I just got my tracking number which works but does not even say in transit yet
hope it moves tomorrow!
I've seen other reports of the Ancient King being pretty soft in this latest batch (but not in the initial US lot),
wonder it it's all of them or if they went for a cheaper 'fewer uses' mould and it started to wear out before they were finished

Have got the tracking number yesterday and the box arrived this morning, so here is a little bit of unboxing (if this does violate some rules, I'll remove it).
Both starter and add-ons come in cardboard boxes. Starter features very nice artwork (front and sides) and photos of actual models (painted and unpainted resin), well printed but with minor raster/moire on background. These should look good on shelves.
Box contents are packed in thin vacuum-formed styrene tray, perhaps too thin to last a long time, but with care and some foam cutting this box can be used as an improvised storage case. Not as nice as Infinity or Helldorado boxes, but good for keeping all the bags in transit. Right, bags...
All models are packed in their separate bags - a big bonus, since that is the point of the starter, to get someone to start as quickly as possible. Mixing, matching and green stuff comes later...
Small sprues are styrene, the rest are some sort of vinyl. Material is nice, if a bit soft, but this may keep parts from breaking and allow to connect most bits without resorting to hot water. Not the "bone-like" bendy, but definitely not as hard as Privateer press or early Mantic vinyl. I was primarily interested in wolf part of the starter, to mix with old Rackham models, and, as shown below, miniatures match the size and style of the old pre-paints very closely. Fit is excellent, that figure holds together without glue, all joints are keyed - no real chance of mixing parts up! Thus - a win!
Now, for the important part. Quality-wise these miniatures blow the average vinyl Privateer Press stuff out and away from the water. Most of Mantic multipart vinyl stuff goes crying to the corner. HOWEVER! - this is NOT a golden bullet. Moulds are still fresh, so at least there are no visible steps, such as when mould parts shift relative to each other. There are also no immediately visible bubbles or obvious miscasts, but the dreaded mould line is still there. It takes some time to catch it without resorting to wash:
Placement is acceptable, but not everywhere, considering it has to be cut with a knife edge. Prominence is also variable, from barely felt to about 0.5 mm. And in some cases it will be difficult to remove -
Smaller one-part models also have their share of these lines of doom, that most likely will result in removal of some relief details during clean-up.
What remains is to experiment with glue, I'll report results some time next week.
Hope this helps to make up a personal opinion about the success of that ordeal.

Hey now, let's not say anything we can't take back.
But since you brought it up, I will mention that upon inspecting my WoK stuff 5 minutes ago I was mostly pleased with the quality of the miniatures and surprised with the crispness of some of the detail on the human sized figures. My only complaint is that there weren't enough base toppers for the included models which isn't a problem, really. (Relic Knights had bases for days! What now, huh?!)

Ha ha!
Well, on the flipside, I'm certain that I won't enjoy WoK gameplay nearly as much as I enjoy RK.
I hope to put a starting army together this weekend. I'll be facing Goritsi first, which one should I take for a good game?

I've my due diligence on my lot now and I have to say overall I'm impressed either the restic they were working with this time was 'better' or they tailored the sculpts to suit (or both). Whatever the reason the small human sized stuff works much better than Relic Knights did and the ABS arms/weapons work decently for flat straight stuff I like the rule book, but those who want lots of painted mini pictures will be disappointed (they use art instead) The Nasier bases are what I expected However I have a few problems as posted above the Gortisi are not (just 'dirt' rather than spooky graveyard) and my Gortisi starter is missing on mini and has another which is miss-cast so I'll need to see about a replacement/refund but as long as that goes smoothly I'm more than happy

OK, a small update on the PVC matters. I must admit I was overly optimistic - there ARE steps and mould slippage, one dancer is significantly miscast. Slightly better news - material is rubbery, but can be worked with using "woodwork" file and a very thin hobby knife. Prepare the most needle-like blade, as mould lines in some cases are very non-trivial to reduce, much less to clean. Vinyl solvent (no-name stuff, plumbing and utility company) is too strong for these miniatures. Softens joins too much, takes several days to harden, and even then You can feel with a fingernail the difference in strength where two parts were welded together. Milliput does not hold on the surface, modification may be difficult. ABS/PVC bonding glue, like UHU and Bison work nicely, I wasn't able to pull pieces apart. Bonding with styrene was worse. Cyanoacrylate ("superglue") works as expected, although scoring surface with a knife edge is recommended.
N.B.: If anyone wants vampire part of Goritsi starter, I am more than willing to trade, may also add a werewolf or two.

Pretty impressed. Almost no mold lines and rather easy to remove those which are there.
Building my ~40 miniatures was quite enjoing. All parts are designed in a very smart way.

Being the said friend (or one thereof), I believe it all arrived except one of the King models had the wrong arms. Will check the rest and send a request for that to be fixed. That was very confusing...
The Kraken and the Chinese Dragon are amazing.
The bases are for either my Eldar army or generally nice scenic bases. I really liked the look of the bases

Huh, I hadn't been checking the pledge manager, and looking at it now, it doesn't list Wrath of Kings as one of my orders (Relic Knights is still there.)
Is that something I should be worried about and contacting someone on? KS knows I am a backer and how much money I put in, but CMoN might not? Automatically Appended Next Post: Along those lines, anyone know a good person there to contact?

You certainly need to contact them as it should be there (all my old ones still show for example and can be looked at)
I wonder if you've ended up with another CMON (or KS&CMON account for this one?), on the KS page you should be able to check your survey response that will show what email address you were using at the time. If it was different just log into that on the CMON pledge manager.
If you were using the same email address but still can't find anything have a look at your CC statements for an appropriate KS payment to Coolminiornot via Amazon Payments (9/16/13) to make sure it actually went through (I know one person who missed out on Bones I this way and only realised when nothing shipped to him)
otherwise email support@cmon.com they are ticketing responses now so should get back to you reasonably quickly

Well, derp, that's what I get for not looking for like a year. I did use a different email address and completely forgot, as KS sent updates to one, but the CMoN address was a different one. Plus side, I don't have to check an address I hardly use to look for the shipping notice. Downside, still just a PDF packing slip :( Automatically Appended Next Post: Thanks for the help, Orlando!

What percentage of the Wrath of Kings backers do you think are in this thread? At least four of them, including me, haven't gotten their stuff. Basic statistics would make that pretty unlikely unless there were a decent number left to ship.

Some people are still waiting? This must be the first KS where my package didn't go out the door dead last!
I've put together starting forces for Shael Han nad Teknes, tried the latter in play. Pretty smooth.
A word of warning. You can heat-bend the main PVC parts as normal. Do NOT attempt in on the semi-hard plastic weapon bits. They curl, they shrink, they turn into gold, they do everything other than become malleable enough to reposition.
