How is that interesting considering he is his partner and it would be weirder if he didn't say anything about it?
Why is partner in quotes?

I put "partner" in quotes because some people might be under the impression that David Miranda was a journalist who worked with Greenwald.
He is not--Miranda is a private citizen who is engaged in a romantic relationship with Greenwald and apparently was having his flights paid for by the Guardian and the Guardian has gone on record as saying that Miranda "often assists with Greenwald's work".

The reason I say that it is interesting is that why exactly would Miranda be meeting with (and apparently staying with for extended periods of time) this American filmmaker(Laura Poitras) in Berlin if Miranda is not a reporter but rather an aide?
The only reasonable explanation that I can come up with is that Miranda was being used as a courier to bring communications/data back and forth between Poitras and Greenwald that they did not want intercepted or monitored.

Do you have a wife, Seaward? How would you feel if the police arrested her and interrogated her for nine hours, just to feth with you? Would you be able to recognise this as a sign of corruption that should be opposed, or would you keep on blaming the victim?

Depends. Have I been merrily leaking classified information left and right before she was detained?

Regardless of the answer, by the way, my response would be, "This should be investigated," not, "I'm going to OWN YOUR FACE SO HARD, BRITAIN! BECAUSE I'M A JOURNALIST, I'M SEEKING REVENGE!" Call me crazy, but I think journalists shouldn't pursue agendas, especially journalists who've had traitors hand off sensitive information to them.

Do you even know who was actually detained, or is the flag you are wrapping yourself in cutting off the circulation to your brain?

If you're having trouble following the conversation, we can try and gin up a Speak & Spell version of it or something.

Semi-offtopic, but what makes one a journalist and what makes one an aide?

Journalists write articles, aides make the coffee.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

The news I read this morning said that he was forced to give up passwords to email and social media accounts under threat of prison if he did not.

No matter what else you may say about the case, terrorism laws should only apply to those you suspect of being, carrying out, or aiding terrorists. Even under the loosest definition of terrorism, this man is still not a terrorist, carrying out or aiding terrorist acts or groups.

Hopefully this will blow up in the faces of or government and get heads to roll, eventually leading to a comprehensive review of digital data protections, rights of those held by the law, and a tightening of the conditions under which a person can be held by the law.
