So as some of you know My father is dying. It is a sad time for the family. we had to clean his apartment out today. Know we found some sad stuff, memories even some hilarious pictures(Some which my sister will never unsee of her mother
but we found under his bed was this, no one knew what it was. We open to find a scale model of a U-2 spy plane. Im thinking "Sweet looking model" but then my brother comes in and says in my hands is a piece of history, possibly used as a scale model to test draft and stuff. With my love of modeling they said they know it is in safe hands Its amazing the stuff people have hidden. they said my gramps must have gotten it for when he left the navy or something.
In its case, where it sat for 25+ years
Fully assembled

That'll look great when you Orkyfy it into a Figha-Bomba...that is your intension right?
Seriously though, that's real nice. Is personal history like a desk ornament type thing or an actual needs to be in a museum piece?

That is really something else, man. Very cool! Automatically Appended Next Post: Interesting that your discovery of it would coincide with the recent release of the Area 51 CIA documents. . . .

Once you get settled, I would honestly find an appraiser to look at it, and get it insured if it's worth something good. I mean, I know that most people assume if you're going to an appraiser, you want to sell it. But, if you have it specifically insured, should go a good deal towards it's protection, knock on wood.
