I got the army of orcs from assul on black reach and the chaos from the dark vengeance box, this guy want to trade for his warmachine menoth army I'm a noob I didn't even play warhammer really so I need your advice so I don't get screwed,

That's the menoth army I dunno if it comes with rules or codex and I don't have stuff to fix metal minis

Should I?

Depends if you prefer warmachine or warhammer I guess? As it is, that is a pretty solid Menoth lot, you'll use eFeora quite a bit if my local Menoth players are anything to go by, same with pSevvy (I think that is his prime version anyway). Dartan, Wracks, Zealots, etc all see use pretty often in my store. So I think it sounds good, and if I had those 40k models I would trade for the Menoth, but then you may not enjoy warmachine if you haven't tried it before, and end up regretting your choice.

If someone offered me that I'd take it 100 times over. Even if you looked at it as a resale you'd make alot more.

Well how much could I sell it for

The two Wracks is a problem, as you need at least 3 (they come as a set), however if you ever play Reznik (who can create extras) they'd probably come in handy.

Altogether, you're probably looking at about $200 worth of stuff from a discount dealer, a bit more if buying RRP. You'll still want a few things to start with if you plan to play (Choir and Vassal of Menoth at the least, probably one of each of the two different multi-jack kits), but it's seems like an OK deal. If you felt like it, you could always do a bitz order to get some new spears for the two which are missing off your TFG.

I don't know exactly what the two halves of the boxes you have go for generally, but I'd say the deal is probably about even in terms of second hand selling price, perhaps slightly favoring the Warmachine stuff, though it depends on the condition of the models.

Ill see if he has quilt and the other thing (to lazy to check)

I'd make that trade any day of the week.

And btw you don´t need the "codex". The units special rules are on the cards every mini comes with. Are they included too?

Not quite sure what you're saying here, but the cards of each model should have their points cost on them as well.

You might need to check if the models come with their Mark II cards as well. If they don't come with cards, or if they come with Mark I cards, you'll have to get a "2010 Card Deck", which will cover all the models you mentioned. Or you can get War Room (an Apple or Android app that you can get the full cards from, but it costs $6 per faction for everything, and gets updated with any new stuff that comes out).

In total the army you listed is about 45 points I think, give or take a few, plus two warcasters. You should be able to make a couple of functional 35pt lists from that, if you got the Choir and a Vassal.

You should still be able to make a few decent 35 pt lists, but since you already pay the "Choir Tax" on Jacks, there's no reason not to grab them.

What you have in 40k isnt very sought after. Most ork players use shoota boys not slugga boys (which you have). The DV chaos is cool if you already have a chaos army. Other then that 90% of the time you are not going to use them (besides the lord). I mean the traitors are cool and may see some use. Value wise what you have in 40k is like 50-80 bucks. Used DV kits with both DA and Chaos go for 60 bucks. And AOBR models are just old and most people can care less about them. Warmachine is fun fast and ez to get into. You wouldnt have to spend much to pimp that army out and have a very nice collection. With what you have in 40k right now.....you still have a long way to go.

Choir and the Vassal are the iconic support for every menoth player. I am frankly surprised he doesn't have them.

Fortunately they aren't too expensive. A unit of Choir is $31 and the Vassals are $8 apiece. And you can get them much cheaper if you look around.


Playing Menoth without Choir is like eating vanilla ice cream without any chocolate sauce. The army is designed with synergy in mind, choir are the foundation of that synergy. Vassals aren't required, but they take the army from ok to awesome.

You can always buy online. Unlike GW stuff these guys are actually sane about letting other people distribute their stuff. About the lowest prices I've personally seen are on a store called "discount games inc".

Of course pre-assembled on ebay is probably even cheaper.

question is, how valuable are the items that you're holding on to YOU? if you have no intent on playing orks or CSM, then it's an exceptional deal! Warmachine/hordes is a fun game, plenty of strategy involved. There are long shots, but with boosting, nothing is impossible. I only wish that WM/H was a more prevalent game, at least as much as 40k and WFB. i had to practically beg my LGS owner to carry the stuff.
