WWPD's Outpost Zero takes a look at the new Firefly Board Game by Gale Force 9.

" All of the ships in the base game are the same. One person gets the Serenity, and the three other players get other Firefly-class vessels. They each come with the same stats - a basic engine (Radion Accelerator MK-1 for you Browncoats), eight cargo slots, four stash slots, and six crew slots......"

The land of cotton.

As a Firefly/Serenity fan, I found the game quite enjoyable. My (adult) sons that never really watched the series dove right in and are quite enamored with the game, and now want to go watch the series.

For any of you on the fence that like the background and characters and are gamers, the value is there. Go buy it today!

I'm a huge Firefly fan and have eagery awaiting this game for a while.

The one thing that worries me however, is that it appears to be another "multi-player Solitare". In others words, each player is going about his business and there is no real meanigful interaction between players. Besides moving the enemy ships and possibly stealing away discontented crew is there meanigful player inaction?

Steal crew, move enemy npc ships, race to different planets where limited resources are available. But yeah, there's not anything you can do that I saw to actively oppose the other players with your own crew/ship.
