So if you don't remember I just posted a topic about replacement resin DP for my metal one. My friend heard about this from me a nd decided he will just call them for everything he wants just to get free stuff (he talked about having 2 of the sprue of drop pod just so he can get another one when in reality he doesn't). I'm not quite sure how to stop him from abusing one of the few good things left of GW and it irritated me when he said he was gonna do this. Help me!

Not really your place to stop him, I would tell him he's being a jerk and that I don't approve. Beyond that your only decision is to stay friends or not, that's a personal decision you have to make for yourself. What would you do if you found out he was shoplifting the items from the store? It's no different. (I would use another word but it would be censored lol)

Most of the time they'll specifically ask for the batch number printed on the box, since they are only obligated to replace it if you bought it new, thus should have the box. One off individual models they might let slide.

If he calls up and says a bunch of stuff came miscast or mispacked, they'll ask him for those numbers. If he doesn't have them, they'll ask him to get them. If he doesn't, with the mount you're saying he's looking to get for free, they just won't send them until he gets the batch numbers. They might even ask to have the miscast stuff (if he claims they're miscast) to be returned and will send him a reply paid satchel.

GW wised up to this with Finecast.

Thats like me trying to tell my friends they shouldnt smoke pot or do cocaine. Its their choice they wanna do dumb stuff and risk getting in trouble if caught. Nothing i say or do will deter them until they get caught.

Every time i had an issue that wasnt just a missing base, GW has asked me for a receipt. Granted that was only like 2 times but they still asked both times lol.

Don't worry about it too much. He might get a few free bits or even a free kit. If he tries repeatedly..... GW isn't stupid they will question him as the previous posts have mentioned.

You take photos and recordings, and document everything. Then you blackmail him and ask for a cut of the rewards. Demand one leg and one arm off every model he receives. Then next time, up the demand. arm, leg, and gun. Next time, a head.

Eventually he will be come overly indebted, get stressed out and become an alcoholic to soothe his pain. He will be angry, vengeful, and abusive to his wife and children. Next he will lose his job. He won't be able to supply you with the arms and legs anymore. This is where you then sever ties with him, ending your friendship. This will be the last straw. He will breakdown and write a letter confessing his trespasses to the authorities, and GW, while describing your extortion. Before taking his own life, which may or may not be preceded with a multiple homicide, he will curse your name in a shrill cry that can never be unheard.

You will be left guilty, friendless, the target of legal action, and alone, sitting in your castle on top of your pile of ill gotten pilfered gains. You will be the Bitz Lord, and have a miserable life full of regret, unable to wash the blood from your shaking hands.

GW has good customer service. If you get a kit that is missing a part, you call them and they send you a replacement kit or part. His friend is lying to GW, saying he has missing bits to get whole new kits for free.

A thief is a thief. Report him and call the police if he refuses to stop, preferably sending the stuff back. This is why we can't have nice things. Imagine if everyone did this, and GW stopped everyone doing this, genuie or not.

With plastics it could be hard , but with finecast you more or less can double any box or blister. I had a friend who complained only one time about his necron overlord . Got a new one two weeks laters , then another one after a month . After that he more or less always calls them after every finecast box bought gives the number and gets a free one . He just swiches the address they have to send stuff , had 0 problem till last week and I doubt he will have any in the future. He is a lucky sob ,because IG has no finecast models I could want.

Its a joke called Dreadsocking because the metal dreads.were.like bricks and made effective weapons like this.

sharp edges would rip the stocking . at best you would get an uncontrolable sling at worse you would hit everyone in the store.

Damn. Sounds like Car Insurance fraud. It's the reason why we pay so much in Ontario. Canada that is .

I'm assuming he was joking. That is like you said the best thing GW has which is glorious customer service.
GW does a lot in the pursuit of profit that any other company that cares for it's fanbase would never do. I don't know if its an issue from a perspective of "Eye for an Eye".
From any Moral perspective it's incredibly reprehensible. It's not something that I would dump an established friend for however.
Just pressure him not to do it and he should stop.

You could tell him about recasters. He might be willing to pay their prices instead of trying to scam GW directly.

Its on him if he goes through with it. I'd be clear that I didn't approve, but let him do what he wants to do.
