I love you dakka, but seriously we all need therapy, just not gay conversion therapy. Or well we could still get that, but just not in Jersey... Though our wives, lovers, and same sex partner whom we've been legally brought together in a "civil union" and not a marriage because 'LIGION! might be upset that we are suddenly converted to being gay, or have been converted straight...

I would say moreso. On the table I'm facing someone I'm going to have to deal with next week and the week after that. Bar someone overpointing themselves, It helps to be polite and have a rulebook handy.

I have complete faith in our justice system to do one of the following in most instances:

1. Get it wrong
2. Allow criminals to get some pretty awesome training in the big house on how to become a better criminal

The law is always a lottery, but this case has pissed enough people off that very stiff sentencing will be expected if a conviction is achieved.
The alleged perps are sixteen, that normally means they get juvenile detention and has a slate cleaned at IIRC 21, they might get tried as adults though.
If so the book thrown at them will be big and heavy, and the scum will be lucky to get out before old age takes them. No vigilantes needed, let justice run its course, life in prison, with no parole, is a hard enough knock.
