Not everybody can run and play Tau properly. A tabled match can have many factors. And Tau isnt an unbeatable codex.

But if you both had fun during the match. Congrats.

Not really. Especially if you got into melee with them quickly enough.

OK

I fail to see how this is a hard counter against tau in any way.

No, his list is not a hard counter to Tau. Daemons can actually match up well against Tau. That's just the nature of their army....their TAC list is really fast. If Tau cannot get a good turn of shooting in, they (the Tau) are in trouble.

demons most definitely are a counter to tau.. as much so as dark eldar are a counter to tyranids. I tabled tau today too.. but you dont see me bragging about it by making a new thread.

Can't you just brag to your friends or something. Honestly that shouldn't have been a hard game in any way possible.

If he brags like this everytime he beats an opponent then there's a good chance he dont have any friends and only plays games against people who dont know him

Guys, stop it. I don't think OP would have tried to share his victory if he didn't genuinely think it was impressive. I don't feel he set out to brag, and even if he did, he does not deserve to be ostracized for it.

Ok, Ok. ^^ has a point. Still, there was no reason for this to constitute a post.

Wow I am new to this place and all, but frankly it all seems pretty lame abusing the OP for enjoying his win.

Its good to hear of ways Tau can be countered because they are pretty brutal with their insane firepower. Things like HH+Longstike are just stupidly powerful.

Hell I might even go take a look at the Daemons codex now.

Funny? Not really.

Surprising? Nope. Tabling an opponent means generally one of two things: the dice gods favored you, or you're a better player. Judging by the Tau list, they weren't new to Tau (as far as I can tell).

Perhaps you would receive a better reaction from the forum members if you weren't such a cocky ass in your title. There's no battle report, no accounting of what actually happened, just some random lists and unit information. In the future if you want to discuss a particularly impressive win, maybe you could give some more in-depth information rather than trying to be funny.

@Frankenberry I don't think its even possible to abuse people on this. Its the internet.

Had the OP written a nicely worded Batrep with pics then savoring a hard fought victory would be one thing. As far as we know the OP beat a 9 year old kid in his first ever game of 40K.

So yes he does deserve ridicule.

I'm not too surprised, tau got a good codex but its not one people can pick up and roll out wins. I have a friend who plays tau and he doesn't win much at all, he is just a horrible player.

Now is it cool your all happy about it? Sure, might have been a tough win for you, but I find the list a little dull and think the other player wasn't too experienced with the army.

Next time make a bat rep and show your hard work please, people would much rather read about the fight then to look at a boring list and know it tabled tau once

I would sign this contract but I already ate the potato

Boro, if you write a batrep, and post it in the right forum, I would gladly read it.

I managed to beat tau by only 1point from line breaker, but I don't think it was impressive enough to talk about. That day, I sent 30 chosen marines to their death along with abandon and his termi retinue. I managed to get abandon to slay his tau commander, only to be drowned in bullets in the enemy shooting phase. it was a bloody and costly victory for chaos
