Ugh, what a way to lose an objective game. I had 5 points at the end of my 3rd turn, Death Knell'd for 3 soul tokens and pretty much had the game rapped up with my intense board position and overall whuppin' ass with Gaspy1. Caustic mist is such a good anti charge tool. Well, that Death Knell hit me in the ass for 5 points of damage. Boosted roll of course. He walked is EHaley in. Landed the Deathknell on Gaspy and 2 other models... crap. THEN his freaking Charger walks over and rolls insanely high while somehow magically being in range, woops I should have notice it was EXACTLY 16 inches away. Game over.

The take away from this is when you have the game in the bag, don't screw around. I could have easily kept Gaspy back, and went all the way up to 26 armor and just turtled my gak until I hit 7 points or mopped him up with Tartarus and Bane Thralls. All my bases were covered. Moving forward in a game where you've already won is a poor reason to lose.

I'm done QQing.

Why did you have to get to 7?

One of the great facets of this game is that even when your victory is most assured, if you get cocky about it it will bite you in the arse Many a sure win has been snatched away by an improbable assassination attempt and a few good rolls!

Looking for a club in Brisbane, Australia? Come and enjoy a game and a beer at Pubhammer, our friendly club in a pub at the Junction pub in Annerley (opposite Ace Comics), Sunday nights from 6:30. All brisbanites welcome, don't wait, check out our Club Page on Facebook group for details or to organize a game. We play all sorts of board and war games, so hit us up if you're interested.

Pubhammer is Moving! Starting from the 25th of May we'll be gaming at The Junction pub (AKA The Muddy Farmer), opposite Ace Comics & Games in Annerley! Still Sunday nights from 6:30 in the Function room Come along and play Warmachine, 40k, boardgames or anything else!

Yeah, same thing happened against me once.

I thought it was game over, the Cryx player I was against controlled everything and I was literally down to a battered Castigator, Harbinger and Vilmon.

I didn't even know I could kill his caster on a triple six, but decided to move Vilmon in to his caster just because and proceeded to roll... a triple six.

This game is too good for stuff like that.

Cygnar (133) | 82% painted - Menoth (65) | 92% painted
Mercenaries (52) | 53% painted - Circle Orboros (42) | 92% painted - Minions (20) | 0% painted

Systems I play : Warmachine, Hordes, Star Wars X-Wing, Star Trek Attack Wing, Malifaux & Bolt Action.

I can't count how many games I lost because my assassination went south

Even when I had redundancies to cover failures

Tho what can you do when even your redundancies fail you?

6+ = 6/36 | Reroll 1s = 7/36 | Reroll Misses = 11/36 ||||||| 5+ = 12/36 | Reroll 1s 14/36 | Reroll Misses = 20/36 ||||||| 4+ = 18/36 | Reroll 1s 21/36 | Reroll Misses = 27/36
3+ = 24/36 | Reroll 1s 28/36 | Reroll Misses = 32/36 ||||||| 2+ = 30/36 | Reroll 1s 35/36 ||||||| Highest of 2d6 = 4.47

I wonder that too.

What scenario were you playing? All the SR'13 ones end the moment someone has 5 CP and more than their opponent. Did the Cygnar player score 5 at the same time as you?

They must have both scored.

Anyway, this is what makes Warmachine great. Its not a flaw. Don't get cocky or the game will bite you in the butt. Not might bite you in the butt, will bite you in the butt.

You can always pull a win out if you seize an opportunity your opponent gives you. Don't make the mistake of giving your opponent that opening.

It was control points via Killing Field. He had no way to contest the points, as I had them surrounded and wrapped. Gotta score 7 to win.
