Hi guys !

I am working on a terminator army list, and your opinion would be appreciated as I have still never played with my grey knights

So :

HQ :

- Grand master, force sword / storm bolter, 3 servo skulls and rad grenades

Elite :

- 2 paladins with hammers, they will be with the grand master

Troups :

- 10 terminators : 2 psycannons, 1 banner, 2 hammers, 1 warding stave, 3 halberds, 2 swords, psybolt ammo.
- 10 terminators : 2 psycannons, 1 banner, 2 hammers, 1 warding stave, 2 halberds, 2 swords, 1 falchions, psybolt ammo.

Support :

- Dreadnought, 2 twin-linked autocanons, psybolt ammo

1485pts, still have 15 points to spend.

My opponent will play Space Wolves or Dark Angel or Blood Angel, not yet decided

Let me know what do you think of that.

First, I'm new to GK, take all my advice with so much salt you could cause the extinction of slugs as a whole.

Second, The list looks solid.
My one and only critique is the Falchions, The +1A is simply just not really with it, even for the points, in my humble eyes.

Spend the points on some fun gear for the GM.
Psychotroke grenades and a Halberd would be my idea.

Yep, the falchions are fancy, but I don't have other terminator figs ready right now and I always play WYSIWYG, so I will work hard to have another sword / halberd ready for the game

Second dropping the falchions, and consider dropping the warding staffs too. They are rather expensive and could net you a third pally.

I would keep the sword on the GM for 2+/3++ in CC. Consider blind grenades and an incinerator, both are a steal for the points.

Consider running the pally's solo and the GM with the terminators. What are your plans for grand strategy?

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

For grand strategy, it will depend on the mission we will play :

If this is an objective mission, I would split the 10 termies squad in 2 * 5 combat squads, to have more scoring units. I would also use "anvil dogma" to have more scoring units with pallies or the dreadnought

If this is a mission as "purge tha alien", I would keep the big termies units and use "hammer of justice" as strategy.

For the pallies, I am hesitating as running them solo : if we play purge the alien, they are easy to get victory points for the opponent. Thanks for the advises concerning the warding starve, I will drop them if my opponent doesn't play Dark Angels and their numerous terminators with AP1 CC weapons.

Generally, the problem with running that list is always going to be that your entire army is about the same stuff. For a tournament list, if you run into for example an ectoplasma cannon, you'll be in a lot of trouble. Same goes with facing lots of AP 2 weapons. Your modelcount will always be low with Grey Knights, but that is really low in my opinion!

I agree with you : in a tournament or againt a new opponent, I will play a more balanced army, with less terminators and more marines (purifiers, interceptors...) and an inquisitor.

But for this time it will be a friendly game, so I do some experimentations.

I'd use the last points to add Pychotroke and/or blind grenades. I second losing the Warding Staves, but that's more because I don't use them; they may work great as a a way to tank all those plasma and AP2 shots that are on the board now.

Surely for grenades as you say, could be usefull for a relatively low cost. Unfortunately, warding stave 2+ save works only against CC wounds.

Ah, good catch. Definitely ditch the Stave then, lol.
