Yep, this miniature line is going to be flipping awesome! Best miniatures in the world...oh GW, the hubris.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

Wow, that Gandalf looks absolutely brilliant compared to the GW ones. I can't wait to get my hands on him

Yup, off to order.
Any chance you might be doing something with the LotR licence? I'd love to get my hands on a proper Boromir or Lurtz mini.

It's nice to see some quality miniatures in appropriate material again for Lord of the Rings.

I like these knight ones, but I can't say i'm seeing the marked quality increase in the Gandalfs that you are.
The Bilbo, yes. The Gandalf, no.

That's probably because there's a big thumb in the way.
These are good, but I don't see paying Batman prices for figures. The Hobbit was just a bit too far to begin with, I wrote a rant on it.

Every model in the 35mm LotR range is "direct only". No idea why.
I'm more interested in what's coming up after Galadriel. Some orc characters maybe?

It isn't a good sculpt. The flowing parts of the gown are atrocious. Have a look at the sculpt without a paintjob...

Really? The hand! The thickness of the "sleeves"... I'm sorry but the work it sloppy. Those flowing robes look like crap.

The only questionable part on the green is the left hand. Other than that, there's nothing "sloppy" about the sculpt.

Having the hand pointed out I can see that but it looks fine on the finished product and is still the best Galadriel on the market by a wide margin.

I broke down and bought a bilbo and thorin but I'm just not sold on galadriel and not because of the hands but the sleeves coming off the arms. To me they are too undefined but that's a personal preference.

I really hope GW tries to complain about it. Alan Merrett needs someone to tell him to go feth himself. Compared to New Line, GW is the small potatoes. Plus, it would also be humorously awesome if GW's 'we don't make toys' crap came back to bite them on the tookus here.
But really,

Can some one please tell me what that Alan Merret poster means? I do not understand the joke or reference.

The annoncment of the first GW store removing open gaming was followed up by 'this is great news as it allows us to focus on in store events'.
After that 'this is great news' just became a thing.
