This is a list i came up with ONLY using the contents of one battleforce and one annihilation (CCB) barge. It's a money saver for sure considering the free overlord. Let me know what you guys think and if you have any better suggestions for utilizing the above packages for an army.

PS if you guys have any i put on how to best expand it to 1000 and 1250 pts too i would greatly appreciate it. I was thinking about adding some wraiths and more warriors since i need some cc guys to off put my large numbers of shooters. I definitely love the whole phalanx/res orb/repair barge combo in theory, but I'm yet to play it.

HQ:
-Necron Overlord (130pts)
w/Warscythe, Mindshackle Scarabs, and Sempiternal Weave

Troops:
-Warriors x10 (130 pts)
-Warriors x10 (130 pts)

Dedicated Transports:
-Ghost Ark (115 pts)

Elites:
-Deathmarks x5 (95 pts)

Fast Attack:
-Canoptek Scarabs x5 (75pts)

Heavy Support:
-Annihilation Barge (90pts)
w/Tesla Cannon

When you build the models, build Tesla immortals, then use legs and chests from 5 warriors to build the deathmarks as well.

Then you'll have 15 warriors left, 10 walking and 5 in the GA. 5 Immortals for objective sitting and it is your choice whether to put the overlord with the 10 walking warriors to tank shots or with the immortals (obviously, not if the immortals are objective sitting).

In order to expand, add more scarabs (because you can probably get cheap ones off ebay) and another AB.

If you buy more warriors, reserve 2 and buy a couple of deathmark or praetorian heads. Then you can make crypteks (just by kitbashing up a staff looking thing from whatever is left over).

It's a good starting point. Tesla immortals would be better than gauss, you have plenty of that in warriors, but if they're built as deathmarks it's not too bad
The AB and GA are good choices, I'd put the OL in the Ark to better protect himself from any snipers etc, especially because of the lack on inv save (I know it's 45pts but against terminators or LCs it's a life saver

Ok good call on the OL. I know in low point games that he will be targeted pretty heavy. Can he still use a res orb in there?

As far as I know, yes, but it only affects his unit anyway so it's a bit of a dud point until he gets out

With a small list like this do you guys think I'm better off with the AB or the CCB? I meant to ask earlier but forgot. I hear a lot of people say ABs work best with a couple or more, so that's why I ask.

I want to pop in and give this list a try so I'm bashing my brain right now trying to figure out if i should do one for 500 or go up to 1000 instead. I just don't like the "feel" of this at 750 if that makes any sense lol. Of course I'm sure it'll change when I play it but right now on paper...hmm.

Well, you don't need to choose permanently. You can swap AB for CCB pretty much anytime.

The answer to the question is (as you only have one) another question - Would you rather deliver a kitted out overlord into assault OR do you want a multipurpose support unit.

Your comment on "feel" makes a lot of sense - it is highly subjective though. Based on the models you have, the list above is probably the most optimised list you can get - but if it doesn't feel right, you'll probably not play it effectively.

You could make some changes to the way the troops look - try 15 + 5 instead of 2X10. In 15+5 you put the overlord and 5 warriors in the ark, and use the ark as a delivery system for the overlord. This change will change the way you play the list.

Cutting down to 500 may make your "feel" problem worse - if you can work out what feels wrong, Dakka may be able to help!
