I wonder when they will get to the point where Mk VI armour appears - not for a few years, I wager...

So that new World Eater unit is something completely new and not the Rampagers, right? If so that's AWESOME!

emmens wrote:so feel free to call me dumb if you like, but I'm curious, is there reasoning for not putting a Forge world headquarters in the u.s.? I can't help but think that would help sales increase somehow.

Because Forgeworld is a niche product in a niche hobby. GW has shut down many of their production plants around the world or reduce the amount of product those plants churn out. Moving FW to the US would be cost and labor intensive for a product that people may not buy anyways. People may not know about forgeworld, or may not buy from them since everything is in GBP and shipping is 15% of your order. People that are willing to buy from FW either wait for FW to show up at a convention they're attending, or they do what people around the US do, coordinate a FW order that reaches the free shipping level and then do a group order.

I am looking forward to the Raven Guard and Iron Hands stuff - and I am looking forward to all 3 of the Loyalist Primarchs too!

I hope Ferrus doesn't come with Kung Fu head removal action . I'm reading Fulgrim atm... and knowing his fate sucks :(

Actually, from all the people I game with/talk to, they mostly do what I do for FW. They buy it on ebay. A LOT of FW gets moved through ebay on a daily basis. Many of the items sell almost immediately upon being listed also.

The marine on marine stuff still doesn't interest me, but I'd totally get some Custodes for counts-as-GK shenanagins, and the Imperial Army may make a suitable replacement for Cadians (I frigging hate cadian models, but rather enjoy their fluff, unfortunate position).

Truthfully, I think FW missed the mark slightly with HH; it's obviously selling well, they're making lots of interesting kits, some of which I might end up using in my vanilla marines, but if they had done Warhammer 30,000, start of with the Legions and the human and xeno foes of the era, that'd be freaking awesome, building up to the Heresy at the end. I've heard rumour they kind of intend on doing some non-Imperial stuff for the era eventually, though I haven't heard if that's going to be pre or post-heresy.

At the end of the day, regular 40k has enough Marine on Marine action, do we really need a sub-game focused solely on Marine on Marine? I'd love to be able to use Charnabal Sabers, Volkite weapons and whatnot in 40k, but instead they feel wasted on Marine entanglements.

Just my 2 cents.

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.

This!

I'm building a MK.VI assault squad (so running legs are a must) and even though I've cannibalised a couple of old metal death company and a vanguard veteran I'm still 3 or 4 legs short of being able to avoid repetition.

Mk VI isn't far away chronologically, as it was issued to the Raven Guard to help with rebuilding after Istvaan, which, unfortunately for Corax, wasn't as long as it should have been.

Book wise, and time in the real world, it is probably two, or possibly three books away, so probably a couple of years (assuming they don't start jumping about the timeline a bit)

Custodes are kinda cool, but I haven't heard of Sisters of Silence being mentioned in I don't know how long. Regardless, this is a long-term project from Forgeworld and they're gonna keep making money on it as long as humanly possible. I've always wondered what the "endgame" is after doing the Horus Heresy, since I always figured GW or Forgeworld would never touch it since there's nowhere to really go from there, as everything's so small in comparison.
Well i'm only figuring that we'll see Custodes and SoS because it's prime territory for them to get rules/models. If we do end up getting the Imperial Army and more AdMech then i'd hope they cover the other notable Imperial factions too.

I'm just chomping at the bit for Iron Warriors to get their due in the Horus Heresy. I want me some expensive resin Marines, but not til they get some models!
Of all the legions the one i'm really interested in seeing is the Ultramarines. Not because i like the smurfs or nothing, it's just that i want to see how they will handle the rules and models. Are they just going to transfer the Ultras 40k status as the "everyman" chapter over to 30k or will there be something special about them?

Haven't we heard somewhere sisters of scilence and custodians will be in the Prospero book with the wolves ans sons?

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

I've not noticed any rumours that say so, but it does make sense. If they're going to be anywhere they'll likely be there...

So is it pretty safe to assume that whenever the sisters of silence are released, they'll have the option to be run like Sanguinary Priests in that you'll be able to take 2-5 or so for one force org and then split them up amongst units to provide a nice Deny the Witch bubble of like, 3+?

I like that idea.

I am kind of suprised how out of the loop everyone here is compared to other forums on heresy news and rumours.

It should be public knowledge that betrayal had 4 legions from istvaan III, 'massacre' is the first istvaan V book with 4 more legions and then the second istvaan V book will have the remaining 3 legions from istvaan V plus the imperial fists which they squeeze in.

So 4 legions for each of the first trilogy of books. With alpha legion, iron warriors, raven gaurd and imperial fists being in the third book fans of those legions will have to wait a bit longer but it is planned for release between Christmas time and fw open day in march so not as long a wait as from book 1 to book 2.

Not long to wait until the next possible update. There are plenty of bits for them to start putting up before games day so we should start to see some exciting emails coming our way

I'll fold and do a pre-Heresy Death Guard army if you let me have Calas Typhon. Then I'll just be doing a pre-Heresy version of my current army!

Not out of the loop, that news is so old it is in another thread that is no longer running, and some users have obviously not seen it, but a reminder is no bad thing.

I knew about the rest of that, but how are they going to fit the Imperial Fists in there? That seems like a bit of a jump...

Well, the bulk of the Legion was en route to Istvaan around the time of the Massacre, so I assume they'll be worked in from that perspective.

Wouldn't be impossible that they will have effectively a guest role, where they will be more fleshed out at a later date.

Book no:3 also covers the battle of Phall, thus iron warriors and imperial fists.

The Legion and the raven guard in the same book is a treat though

I have a little hobby-thread going in the P&M section. Some say it's the best blog on Dakka, some don't agree, most belive it would be better if I finished at least one project some time this century and not just kept starting new ones.

I think that idea just started out as speculation by some users, since in the HH novels about the the burning of prospero they played a prominent role. I think it's less a rumor that they will be in that book, so much as it a educated guess by most people they would appear in that book.

Reading the Betrayal book's FOC they mention "Agents of the Emperor/Warmaster" detachments. If I was to make a speculation, I would guess that the sisters of scilence and custodians will be Agents of the Emperor units.

What then would the Agents of the Warmaster be? Daemons and some such?

Dark Mechanicus could just as easily be represented by Starded AdMech and any heretical human forces could would just be standard Imperial Army/guard painted evil.
