Hi guys, I just put this lady together and fired off the primer. Ready to paint whenever I feel up to it.
I was amazingly impressed with the metal model actually. Only other metal I've used was from another company and absolutely horrible, more mold line and injection whisker than actual model it seemed like. Very good detail and went together very well (except getting the dang arms and staff lined up. I swear you experienced modelers must grow extra arms). Now I just have one other concern, what do I name her? Accepting suggestions.
Also, a horrible thought has occurred to me, there's no reason a guy's essence chamber couldn't be installed in a steelsoul protector (or a clockwork angel even). I'd rather not think about that one at the moment

No extra arms involved. I use clamps and sticky tack. And as far as the robo-gender reassignment... I don't actually have anything witty to say. I honestly hadn't thought about it, but it adds up.

Sometimes when a priest of Cyriss is put into a clockwork vessel, they change their name to something techy-sounding (Viana became Directrix) and sometimes they don't (Lucant was Lucant before and after being put into a clockwork vessel). So you could make up something that combines tech and drinking. Like:
Boozatron
Ale Gebra
Kegatrix
And since you're wondering about robo-transgenderism, you could use Coilette. That was Bender Bending Rodriguez's name when he became a fembot on Futurama.
To become a clockwork vessel, one's soul must be put into an essence chamber, and that requires one to die. At that point, concerns of the flesh are irrelevant. So when that soul gets placed into a clockwork vessel, it's just a body that requires the same amount getting used to as any other regardless of its outward gender appearance. At least that's what I think. I don't think PP has addressed that in any way, nor do I think they will ever.

I'm in full agreement as far as the story implications of adapting to a new body. I mean, for all the clearly breast-like chest plates and willowy limbs, machines don't have an implicit gender. And if the logic is that Cyrissists (is that the correct term?) seek to become more machine-like, they wouldn't be concerned with the idea of identifying with a gender to begin with (assuming they are properly far enough along to be transferred into a clockwork vessel).
Of course, even if the clockwork body is purely oriented toward function and the feminine or masculine details are purely aesthetic, one has to wonder what the thought process would be for a character if they chose a body with any gender-like attributes.

According to the story in their army book, the new body takes zero getting used to. Lucant moved into a five armed, four legged body and he said controling it was like second nature the instant he awoke in it.

My personal interpretation of that was that the transference process is significantly smoother for Warcasters, since they are already experienced at 'controlling' their warjacks through the interface node. It's part of the reason that non-warcasters are transferred into more traditionally humanoid vessels, such as the obstructor, as to better learn how to control their new bodies.
