So here we have a Dark Elf war Hydra. It once belonged to a friend of mine who I used to game with all the time. He hasn't been in the hobby for awhile and he sold me all his Dark Elves. This model is kind of special because I was the one who built it for him. I got the itch to finish a side project and, well, I kinda went all in on this one.

So This model was missing an arm for one of the Hydra handlers. Fortunately I have a set of Handlers that I haven't gotten around to putting together for my other Hydra. So I was able to cast the missing arm in Greenstuff.

After almost 2 weeks of work, here we have my refurbished War Hydra.

I decided to give it a funkier colour scheme than I normally would. Mostly because I want it to represent a Spellthirster War Hydra from the 2002 Annual.

So yet another model done, though not one from my pile....Ugg, I have to get back to that.

^That's a fantastic job at refurbishing the old models. The Hydra and minders look great!

Yeah, I love the colours for the hydra and especially the skin tones on the Dark Elves, wonderful job!

I've been listening to Gaunt's Ghosts and as I usually do when I read those novels I started looking at making an army. I don't have a 3D printer so the Victoria Minis proxies weren't an option, though they are lovely.

I settled on using the Human Light Infantry models from Oathmark with some leftover cadian bits and bits from my various stargrave boxes.

They're probably not as armoured as "real" Tanith but they look the part as far as I'm concerned! I had to greenstuff fatigues onto the models with bare legs, but other than that it's a very straightforward kitbash.

Bare or helmeted heads are Troopers, running as Veterans in Grimdark Future, and hooded heads with shoulder pads are Scouts, running as Stormtroopers.

Looks great!
But I wouldn't have replaced the arm. I'd have added blood/gore effects to the handler instead. And some blood in the one of the beasts mouths.

Hmm, been a while since I posted here, but I haven't been idle (because heresy grows from idleness) painting quite a few things mostly to practice skin and faces for a few miniatures I wanna get right.

First, finished my new Space Marine scouts.

Finally got around to finishing my Infinity Achilles who's been sitting around unpainted for years. I am very happy with him, making him a display mini, even though I've been getting into Infinity lately.

Finished this totally radical Cyberpunk ninja dude I bought from Etsy. Might use him as a proxy for my novel's main character Azakir Halgriv in my own game or Infinity.

And finished this 2nd ninja/samurai dude. Very happy with him as well.

After his organisation is hired to hunt down an influential gang leader on the Hive world, Omnartus. Attelus Kaltos is embroiled deeper into the complex world of the Assassin. This is the job which will change him, for better or for worse. Forevermore. Chapter 1.

The Angaran Chronicles: Hamar Noir. After coming back from a dangerous mission which left his friend and partner, the werewolf: Emilia in a coma. Anargrin is sent on another mission: to hunt down a rogue vampire. A rogue vampire with no consistent modus operandi and who is exceedingly good at hiding its tracks. So much so even the veteran Anargrin is forced into desperate speculation. But worst of all: drive him into desperate measures. Measures which drives Anargrin to wonder; does the ends, justify the means?

I spent the last 4 hours trying to find an easy (and cheap!) paint scheme for my Space Marine Kill Team.

To go along with the Tanith First and Only I've been bulking out my Chaos Cultist force. I have a squad of 20 with autoguns and another squad with close combat weapons, so here's a squad with shotguns and some mortar teams.

Squad is a mix of North Star Scavengers 1 and 2 and Cultists 1 and 2 with shotguns taken from all across the Stargrave range. The mortars are taken from Mantic Plague, who I plan to kitbash up as mutants shortly. I'll be adding sandbags to the front of the mortars to make them look entrenched which is why they're set so far back on their bases.

The past two weeks or so I've been building Krieg and making/painting up scenery bitz & pieces for a D&D game.

Today I took a break from doing both & finally got a set of Victoria Miniatures Halfling snipers built & base coated.
Very nice figures. And unlike their current GW counterparts they A) didn't cost a fortune, B) weren't cut up into many tiny parts (just head/complete body/base for most of them).
