Finished High Elf Prince on Griffon.
Started basecoating High Elf dragon. Friend asked for the dragon to be super bright and flashy, to contrast rest of the army, so super happy I can paint it the way I like it.

Got all of my Konflikt 47 stuff base coated.

The last few nights I have been cleaning up & basing a bunch of One Page Rules prints a friend sent me.
Ghouls & Ghoul Horrors, Giant Bats & Bat Swarms, Giant Rats & Rat Swarms, some ratmen characters & giant beasts
It's been fun!

Ended the misery of painting LI Drop Pods.

Wonderful kit and resulting models. But an absolute chore to paint in my usual slap/chop style. Very smooth, very vertical. Much pooling. Great messy.

Built the last 3 of my Trench Crusade Prussians & got the whole team base coated.

Now to go download the rules.

After weeks of getting up the courage, I finally had another try of 3d printing minis. They printed really nicely, but I frigged up a few things, made the supports way too strong and didn't wash the excess resin off well enough for a few of them. But I'm happy with the result and will use the lessons learned the next time!

Finished my first army after hiatus. And started painting my nids

I'm continuing the work on my Thousand Sons Infantry. Got some good progress on the 2x 5 Rubric Squads, most of the painting is done on them, so I'm moving on to some basing.

I'm out of the technical paint I used and I think it's discontinued now (Armageddon dust/dune), so I'm trying another texture paint and will paint over and see how it goes (annoying extra steps tho).

Got the last of the metalics done on my Deadzone terrain. Going a bit slower than I hoped but getting there.

I spent $ 24.00 on a can of gold spray paint...

Lately, I've been doing a lot of experimentation with my 3d printer. It's a Hey Gears Reflex, so quite user friendly. Been printing out Hero Forge minis of Anargrin (from the Angaran Chronicles) Attelus, Elandria and a few other characters and it's been quite the learning experience. I think I've got a hang of it now. Maybe?

My quest for an alternative Red Primer led me to just get some Rust-Oleum flat red from my Home Depot. I've used their Black and Grey for years though not their white (It comes out too chunky and I've almost ruined models with it)

I'll just say for starters, its not really that Red. Its more of a Dark reddish Brown, almost Chocolate. I works fine as a basecoat for what it is. I have a pile of Blood Angels I want to paint up but I want to do it as quickly and as easily as possible. This primer won't really work for that. But overall its still fine and I can see myself using it for terrain so it's not a total loss.

Slow and steady terrain progress. Sponging stage tomorrow. At this rate, I should be finished by next week...

I laugh because I should be starting my February Hobby Progress Challenge since I just finished January's goal but...

instead I clipped and cleaned all the walls and fences from the Warhammer Manor kit, then built up the cannon from a Cathay Grand Cannon (because I finished the customized bretonnian crew yesterday) and then I built some random Bret Characters.

Ah well, they needed to be built anyways!

Alright, finally managed to buckle down and finish something. I have a unit of Dark Elf Spearmen that have been half done staring at me since about April of last year. I've been slow to work on them because I have more bodies than I have shields for them. So I've had to cast extras with Greenstuff. Seeing as the curing time for greenstuff takes awhile I've been slow to work on them. Finally decided to just do it. I want this unit done as I've made the decision I can't work on the rest of my Dark Elves until I finish all my core models.

So here we see the first models of the new year done.



Honestly the casting on the shields isn't that good, but the flaws are mostly on the back side so no one will see them.

Also thought I'd throw up the last model of 2025 that I managed to paint over the holiday.



Now I have one more Rat Ogre to finish before I build a movement tray for them and get to work on their handlers.

Still recovering from the largest ass kicking I've ever received in a game. From a smack talking 11-year-old girl nonetheless.

Sponging on my terrain is done. But it's going to mean an extra step of correcting overspill. I might do some more for battle damaged areas, but I'm getting close to the wash stage.

That's going to be a PITA because I'll pretty much have to sit up at night to do it to give it time to dry before my kid is back rampaging through the living room.

Assembled some Dusk Models for Warmachine last night and started painting 20 praetorian Infantry for my IG.

Tonight - more painting of Praetorians

Missed a day yesterday but got two sessions in today to make up for it. Painted the connectors for my scenery today, just drybrushing light grey and white on top of a mid grey primer. I want them fairly neutral so they don't look too obvious on my buildings.

And did my last bit of sponging some dark brown around any damaged sections to give the impression of scorch marks. I went for a very light application, because I can always add more if I decide it's not enough.

Tomorrow I'll sit down and correct all the mistakes on the panels and tomorrow night I'll do the first side of all the panels with my wash. I wish I'd sorted out a rack for them all to sit on so I could do the wash and then let it run down the models as they dry but I didn't have the time to make one and didn't want to spend any money on such a niche issue.

Pretty curious to see how it all goes together painted. I'm trying to keep it modular and flat pack friendly, but if it turns out to be a nightmare to work with I can always super glue things together.

The plan is to have an all new 2k SM force assembled & base coated for next Sunday's game.

Forced myself to prime and drybrush twenty 'mechs, tedious for sure, but at least that's done now.

Also primed and painted four simple mech-shaped models to serve as sensor markers for an upcoming game.

I got 10 more Dark Elf Spearmen to paint to finish my unit. Which means I need to cast 10 more shields to go with them. I have begun that process and the only thing slowing me down is the curing time of Greenstuff.

I've been working on more dark eldar warriors, might do a little painting too, got a printed miniature that i'm keeping secret until its ready to show fully painted

I don’t know if that really counts but I finally finished inventorying my collection of paint. I have way too many. Many more than painted minis…

I built a Necromunda Ambot.

Sat up to do my first round of washes. Looking good! Had a couple of them adhere to the paper I was using as a cover for our table so I'll have to clean that up.

Kinda glad I didn't go bigger with this terrain now, this is definitely the max I'd like to paint at once!
