Is 'Eavy Metal Calling?

UK

I have a Deadzone game scheduled for tomorrow afternoon, so I might try and work on the last few orx models before then.

Other than that, I've had a complete dearth of hobby activity recently, due to a complete lack of time and a bunch of other stuff. I'm hoping starting Malifaux will revitalise that, as the minis are nothing short of amazing, but that won't be for a month or so.

I couldn't just assemble and paint a drop pod could I. I had to wire LEDs into it.

Debating what to next, after my failure with Ms. Hesperax. I've put out some feelers to try to find some replacement arms, though. Trying to get my Raging Heroes pledge together.

I think that's one character I never had and my old metal wyches will have to be pried from my dead grip! Any chance of using a plastic arm from one of the wych kits and working it into the outfit?

Skipped the game store, but did stop at hobby lobby. Got a punch that should work for larger rivets. Probably bigger than I should use even for a tank, but for some ramshackle scenery pieces they may be alright. Also got some casting plaster stuff and that cloth/mesh stuff that sets up hard, terms escape me, to use for scenery in my diorama(s). Got a couple boxes for one of them as well.

Still debating as to whether I have the energy to assemble a 500-1000-1500-2000 point army or if I just need to throw in the towel and start selling the marines along with my nids and dark eldar. And fantasy armies, just haven't been into that lately. It's not so much an edition change thing as it is the amount of effort kicking the butt of my limited time.

You wanna sell that Dark Eldar, toss me a PM.

And alas, no. While the 3rd ed one might be replaced with a normal arm, the 5th ed Lelith lost a bunch of weight apparently. Her arms are much skinnier than a normal wych's, and the arm on her body truncates in a weird place (not at shoulder or elbow, but midway down the upper arm) so it's going to necessitate Green Stuff no matter what I do. Sigh. And DE have a derth of right-handed melee weapons. However, if I can't drum up a spare online, I'll just replace it with a shardnet arm from my wyches. The shardnet webbing will disguise the extra thickness of the forearm in comparison to the upper arm, and will make it easier to conceal the join, too. Plus, it isn't like it isn't WYSIWYG or anything.

Interested in the diorama you're doing based on some of the mats you said you picked up. Got no real interest in Dr. Who, but interested nevertheless.

Well, it might hold some appeal just for the shape and the mini dioramas within a display box aspect. I'll have something like four 5-6''x~3x~3 x 6" high wedge shapes in which to fit four separate scenes, so there will be various terrain features and probably some approximated alien nasties.

And the other one is an infinity samurai fighting a couple of ninjas On a bridge over a chasm if I have my way, partially what the cloth and plaster stuff were for.

These may be useful for said bridge if you are looking for something more traditional and less futuristic. If you cant make it yourself of course.

Finally about to finish my smurf tactical squad, it is a bit of a test batch, just finished the chapter logos, freehand seems OK, but will obviously take practice!

Still need to do all the pouches, sergeants face, assorted buttons (missile launcher, targeting modules), edge highlight and wash.

May get it done today, then need to decide what is next

I assembled a few minis from my big mantic order that came in today, 2 crazy boxes and a bunch of mantic point dudes.

Also, I've been playing some of the PC version of Space Hulk. Some of the rules changes throw me a bit and the AI seems a bit easy so far. - I got all 10 dudes off the board in the decoy mission, for example. But, truth be told, it is actually pretty good now that it was down on sale for a sensible amount of money.

Drop pod LEDs complete and working. The Storm Bolter is wired so it completes the circuit when I attach it, and the LEDs swing into action.

Yeah, they're super awesome. I don't jive with the aesthetics of some, but the majority are really highly rated in my book. And seeing how it just cost me something like $50 to buy and ship 6 not-as-amazing Dr. Who minis from Heresy (they're good, but CB stuff is ridiculous), the price isn't even that much of a sticking point for me anymore. Its not like you need six squads of ten with matching transports to play the game either

Baby is off visiting her great grandma with my mom and dad, so now I've got at least 3-4 hours of unobstructed hobby time. Just as soon as I finish this sandwich... it'll be time to hit up the airbrush, dip can, and whatever else I can cram-pack into that time. May finish one of my Battlezones buildings, and I found some pill planner things at the dollar store that will make great dumpsters.

Just played a game of FoW Early war, I may have developed a distinct love for the French, it was intense going up against mechanized German infateri with ligth armour support.
My French Forigen legionares gave ze Germans a bloody nose indeed. Although it ended as a draw, but that is my fault alone. Forgot to divert troops to hold a series of positions I needed to hold to win.
Also the fun of playing player created battels

Gotta love skeletons.

Finished painting one dead zone building, got it dipped. Two more almost ready to dip. Made a couple of dumpsters too. Also got an industrial pipe feature and a half primed. Pictures on last page of blog.

This morning after the gym I primed it black, and it is now ready for paint work. Can't wait to start this beast.
