Not sure if they do, but your sternguard should have a drop pod.

Using the UM rules, Tigurius is well worth the 100 points you need to clear out to get him in.

Personally, I find more Sternguard are better than Tac spam. Not sure how many MC's you face in your Meta. But poison rounds with a Divination Libby (Tigurius) works wonders for bringing the big ones down.

Totally agree. Drop the dred and give his dp to the vets. Add Tigurius. Drop a tac marine if need be to put him in the pod.

This looks strangely similar to the list I built... But thats ok.

I would totally second tigurius. The ability to re-roll reserves is awesome. You'll have you entire army on the table at turn 1.

Fully agree with what's said above, tigurius in and dread out, I also think your scout squad is too expensive and that one storm talon isn't enough for 1500

My bad, the sternguard did have a pod.

45 points left?
I'm using the StormTalon to rid me of Flyers

Well, the 45 points isn't going to get you much. Why not upgrade the Stormtalon into a Stormraven? You should have enough for 200 points worth. Make some free weapon upgrades and your sound

Where does tigurius go? DPs have a capacity for 10 men, meaning he has no room. You could put him the the stormraven (if you go with that), but he wont be on untill atleast T2 and cant re-roll reserves or roll on divination untill T3.

Why is your Stormtalon 155 points? I would make room for Tigirius in a pod having him standing on his own is pointless and just gives up STW and FB really easily.

30 Tac marines is too many at 1500 no reason to take more than 2 units unless taking Allies for an extra HS/FA/Elite slot.

You need some AA a solo Storm talon won't cut it and is a bad idea (they need to be used in pairs to be effective).

How about something like this:

Tigirius 165

Tac Marines: melta, combimelta, ML+Flakk DP 225
Tac Marines: melta, combimelta, ML+Flakk DP 225

Stormtalon: Sky hammer 125
Stormtalon: Sky hammer 125

10 Sternguard: HF, 3 Combimelta, 3 Combiplasma, DP 325
9 Sternguard: HF, 3 Combimelta, 3 Combiplasma, DP 303

Now you've 4 Units that are a threat to flyers. You have a choice of 2 hard Alpha striking units to drop first or hold them for a turn 2 strike. Just loads more threat across the board.

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.

Yes my Colour is Black but not for the reasons stated mainly just because it's slimming... http://imperiusdominatus.blogspot.com

10 Sternguard: HF, 3 Combimelta, 3 Combiflamer, DP 325
9 Sternguard: HF, 3 Combimelta, 3 Combiplasma, DP 303

Do i really need Flakk missiles? My meta isn't too big on Flyers, just one, maybe two in a game.
ALSO, are DPs good? Better than rhinos? Are you sure than the 10 man unit of Sternguard is better than two Dreadnoughts in pods?

Your throwing 20 MEQs into the face of a 1500 point army at the start of turn 1. Sorry, but imho, most armies will be able to deal with that with no problem at all.

I don't need you attitude brah... Add constructive critcism or leave, I don't think telling that my list won't work but not supporting it will help.

I'll add a smiley so it comes across a bit nicer.

Plus, it's a valid point

Drop pod armies, by nature, are alpha strike armies. Having units not in drop pods just leeches effectiveness away from our army. For example, Thunderfire Cannons can take drop pods, that doesn't mean you actually deploy them via pod; but it ups your numbers. The more you have, the more drop T1. You then choose your nastiest, killiest units in first and then your softer, cheaper scoring ones later. Go for odd numbers since you always round up when halving.

As for specifics, I haven't delved into the SM dex deep enough to feel comfortable offerin that.
Sternguard are boss. Ironclads are good tarpits and can eat wave serpents if you can box them in or immobilize one. And good old tactically can combat squad and run towards different objectives late.

Rule #1 is Look Cool.

I never said it wasn't a valid point. I just want you to instead of just dismantling the list, add in something. Basically also tell what I should do in addition.

lets put it out there then. 2 drop pod squads landing in front of 2/3 Devilfish with 10 firewarriors each and say 1 etheral you won't have anything left after the following turn they will spam you with shots and you will fail enough rolls to see them all gone. (i speak from experience)

When in doubt get Mephiston out!
My rhinos go ZOOOOM!!!
