my freinds and me have debated this i say yes they can on the same logic that ultramarines or any chapter in 5th edition could take a storm raven even though it was only in two codexs (GK and BA) they say no because it is not in my codex

No, it's not in your codex.
And Ultramarines couldn't take Storm Ravens in 5th.

Then they weren't following the rules.
Not until "Death from the Skies" was released in 6th did they have access to them.
And that's a Thunderhawk in that image...
Edit: Allies in 6th are one thing, but it's simply not in your codex. DA have as much access to Centurions as Orks do.

You can't take one of those in a DA standard 40k force either.

Wasn't the Chimera in the GK codex as well as the IG codex? I'm not sure what you're getting at, unless the Chimera's stats weren't in the Codex and it simply said, "See Codex: Imperial Guard"

Because a Chimera is in the Grey Knights codex?
It's a dedicated transport option.
It's in their Codex.
Note it says Inquisitorial Chimera. Inquisitors are in the Grey Knight Codex.
The Centurions aren't in the Dark Angle Codex.

The Chimera is listed in the GK book. It does not have any restriction on GK Termys riding in it so they can ride to the party.
As to your question: Not in your book, not in your army. Sorry.
As a DA player myself I was hoping to get the StormRaven myself with this last codex but no luck.

yup sorry, no dice (barring allies of course).
Just like regular SM don't get some of the cool stuff DA do.
Different codex, different units available. Being a different flavour of Marines doesn't automatically grant you access to everything in the other Marine codexes (unless GW specifically says so) otherwise there would be no point in having different flavours of Marines in the first place

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so
Menoth - 300+ pts

Ya cant pick the bits you like out of the DA codex and couple it with the bits out of the SM codex to make your own super codex (unless your opponent agrees)
If you want SM stuff play an SM army. Or ally. Otherwise ya going against the rules

Well the FaQ allowed Ultra's to have Stormravens well before the DFtS book came out, though it was probably still after the 6th ed came out.

No, it was changed to allow them when DfTS came out.

I have to agree in that they can not be taken by DA unless though allies. But you do have the option to run your DA painted marines as Codex Space marines...

The timing doesn't really matter. The relevant information is that regular marines could only take storm ravens once a rule was added that allowed them to do so. There is currently no such rule allowing anyone not using the marine codex to use centurions.

You can take them as allies as so many others have said, though it gets expensive points wise to take the minimum hq and troop required just to unlock that one single unit.
Specifically what is it about them thar you like, and what's in the da codex that does the same for less (allowing for total cost of allies hq, troop & centurions).
It's a while since I've had my brb out, so I could be wrong here but I think taking allies would mean you can't take a fortification. Ie, denying yourself an aegis line or skyshield for aa / enhanced reserves which may do you more favours than the cents...

Who the hell voted yes?? You may not. Allies rule, or use green marines em codex SM. No one is gonna accept a Belial 2 units of DW, and some devastators centurions on the same detachment. For example, of course. Sorry for sound rude ><

Can't say fairer than that. But basically - as has gone before - it's not in the Codex, so unless you find something saying Dark Angels can take them too then you can't. So far there is no such rule.
To give other examples - if this were allowed, what would stop me from taking Deathwing with my Blood Angels Codex? A Bloodthirster for Orks? A Leman Russ Battle Tank for Tyranids?

True, but could be the points for the mandatory ally HQ and troops makes a fortification seem less attractive.
As for the OP, no poll was needed. Centurions aren't in the DA Codex and their FAQ (or SM FAQ) doesn't give them to any Chapter that has their own Codex. BA, DA, GK and Space Wolves will have to wait until GW lets them have them, just as everyone had to wait to get their Stormravens from the BA.

Yes, but only if you don't use the DA codex and instead use the SM codex. Just be sure to tell your oppanant that you may have models that are painted to look like dark angels, but you will be using codex space marines and what chapter tactics you will be using. I've done this to play my DA as blood angels before and to be honest its one of the best reasons to play a marine army. I only chose DA becuase I realy like the look of the robbed guys and did'nt want to make my own chapter. When I do this I do avoid running named characters though. For example I just built a couple more ravenwing bikers with grav guns and a new chapter master/captain on a bike. I will likely never claim the captain on the bike is kahn.
