Okay, I've tried to read the legal notification on Games Workshop website, but I am still somewhat confused. What exactly is Game's Workshop stance on scratchbuilding items that are not for sell, (personal only) used as a static display? I am inquiring because I am building a Space Marine Chapter for display purposes, and would like to have a Space Cruiser to display with it. Obviously not to scale, but something that would be cool to show with it.
Thanks for the help.

As long as its not for sale they can't touch you as far as I can tell. You are making no profit from their IP so they can't even send a Cease and Desist.

They don't care.

If they cared, they would stop people making Imperator Titans in 40k scale.

If you make a Strike Cruiser in 40k scale, please post some pics. I'd like to see the sheer size of the thing, seeing in the 40k universe the ships are gargantuan.

As long as you don't sell stuff, they can't do anything about it (and they will not care about), even if you sell stuff they can only sue you if you name it "Warhammer 40k" or copying their stuff.

A to scale strike cruiser would dwarf your car methinks.

Knowing GW these days they'll probably send the legal team to break your thumbs and smash up your model.

And then you can sue for destruction of property and assault.

Hahahaha... it definietly will not be to scale. Most like 12-18 inches long. Just a back drop to the company I am making. I will post pictures when I start, but it will not be for some years.

Come on, converting a car to look like a strike cruiser would be awesome.

A scale strike cruiser would be roughly 50m long... good luck with that. Maybe do a to scale landing bay or bridge of a cruiser... much better.

Just to clarify, wasn''t planning on building a scale version of a cruiser. Just wanted to build one just to say that I built it.
Now the landing bay or bridge does make for a nice idea. Might be hard to explain parking the RazorBack on the bridge though.... so maybe just the landing bay.
