fidel: should we spill a teaser for a teaser?

Meanwhile:
Time for a new release – a gaming mat with urban ruins theme. Available as 4x6, 4x4 or 3x3 in size, manufactured on PVC or cloth, but can be custom tailored to any table size or with any variation of grids or hexes. It was a challenge to find the balance between general rubble and geometry of a city since we wanted it to serve as a universal background for any possible scenery deployment options. Check out more visuals at our gallery and let us know how well we succeeded!

New mats look great! What I'd really like to see (and haven't from you or your competitors) would be some mats suitable for Zone Mortalis. 4x4 with lots of 2"-4" wide corridors. Obviously I'd rather have Forgeworld's nice resin pieces, but those are both expensive and time-consuming to paint.

I don't want walls or structures on it, but a mat that represents the interior of an industrial complex, factory, spaceship interior decking would be awesome. Basically looks like the bare Zone Mortalis tiles without any walls, etc.

Awesome, this is exactly the kind of thing I was meaning when I described the broken concrete style previously. Great work!

Question - I really like your mats, but I might be looking for something soon to have for Dropzone commander. Are you able to scale your graphics down and put more detail on the mats, to make them look more reasonable for a 10mm game system?

I am not sure if I am wording myself correctly here. I'd be looking for something which uses the same graphics, but printed at a much smaller scale, but on the same size mat. A large Dropzone game apparently goes on a 6' x 4' mat, so you'd need a way to shrink the current mat graphics of that same mat size, and then overlap/repeat them randomly so they don't look too similar.

Sorry if I keep being so demanding. Just wondering is all

Ordered one of your 3x3 Xwing type mats, receive it very quickly, unfortunately the tube was damaged leaving the mat significantly crushed.
Is there a safe way to flatten the vinyl if it is badly creased and pinched? Can it be ironed under a damp dishcloth or anything.

I will be contacting DeepCut seperately but wanted to open this up to solutions from customers as well.

Thanks.

Not sure if anybody else said this but all those pictures are broken for me. It is a pity about shipping costs, I would love one of these mats.

Turned up faster than expected as well, full marks from me

Ooh, I was looking for a new mat to replace the desert one I bought from Deep Cut Studious. I didn't like the thin PVC I have that one in (I need to tape the edges down), so this is the excuse to replace that with a cloth one. Huh, and is that a darker brown than the regular desert/wasteland mat? I found the one I had to be too yellow, but that one looks like it'll fit my model's bases much better.

Edit: Still looking for one for my Eastern European stuff though. Hmn, that swamp one could do, though one with more brown earth between all that moss would be nicer...

I have a 3x3 space themed cloth mat. The image on them are fantastic, real depth of colour without the glare of pvc which I despise. Problem I have with the cloth ones is I'm constantly pulling the mat to straighting it out, they crease VERY easily though I've found rolling them into a tube helps this though they do not supply you with one. I think these problems will multiply the bigger the mats get. IMO DCS have some of the best mats out there (I own 2 PVC and one cloth DCS mats). Though I am waiting for them to produce them in a mousemat esc material before I buy another, as soon as they do I'll buy the swamp one in 4x4 and the new wasteland on in 3x3.

I'd assume that the cloth ones at least don't curl up constantly unless you tape them down? Creasing's one thing, needing to bring a roll of tape with you to every game is another. I take it then that the cloth's pretty thin?

That is my feeling for the materials as well (I have one of their PVC mats). I love their designs, and would instabuy them in a mousepad material, but won't be buying anything else of theirs in PVC (due to flimsiness and especially glare). I don't think cloth is a good enough substitute, they really need to look into the material their competition is using or else they are going to fall behind!

Mousepad mats you asked, mousepad mats you have got

Major news announcement! Our wargames terrain mats are now available on mousepad material along with previous choices of PVC and cloth. That’s more than 50 new various themes and sizes. Mousepad mats are manufactured on a cloth with a 2mm thick non-slippery rubber foam backing. It ensures instant flatness of the gaming surface, easy card handling on the table, silent dice rolling. The paint are soaked into the material, meaning they will never scratch off. Check them out at our website and grab some while limited supplies last.

Wow! When you say "manufactured on a cloth", I'm not quite sure what that means, since the pic you've shown has cloth looking different than the mousepad. Is it just the cloth attached to a mousepad material, or is it printed on another material from your normal cloth mats?

Most of all, could you give a picture of one or of a test piece? I am very interested! But would like to see a photo first if possible

Mousepad material is what it is - a synthetic cloth with a rubber foam backing. And it comes with rubber backing as default, we do not add the backing to preprinted cloth surfaces.

The picture in a previous post shows the back of each material. Cloth is just a cloth, like an ordinary t-shirt or summer dress. Mousepad - cloth with with additional layer of black rubber foam.

Here is an image we borrowed from the internets with a zoom in and some neat flowers in the background. It's not our design, but it is how our mats look like:

What's the pricing on the new Mouse Mat versions? Did haev a poke about the site, but couldn't see it leaping out at me.

Also, are you getting exact 4 foot square with the mouse mat? Its an issue I have with my current supplier (though he may have fixed that with his new batch) where the mats are 47.5 x 48.5 " which is an issue.

Do you do a bulk discount? As in 64+ mats.

How about custom printing/addition of logos.

Feel free to PM me to discuss further

Thank you for the fast reply! Could you describe how the mousepad mats will ship - I assume rolled up in a tube, like your other mats are?

Just ordered the 6x4 Supernova theme

Me too, I bought a mat from Deep-Cut a few months ago.

However, I am very happy with my PVC mat. The glare I haven't had a problem with as it's a space mat and so shininess isn't quite so much of an issue as it would be with a mat depicting rolling fields etc. It sits completely flat after careful flattening with sheets of MDF, and feels sturdy enough that it will last a very long time with careful handling.
