So basically, I'm bad at painting.

I mean, really really bad.

Seriously, I don't think you could possibly understand how much I mean what I'm saying here. It's that bad.

Anyways, a few days ago I picked up the Chaos Space Marine codex and I'm gonna start painting me some Alpha Legion. And even given my obvious deficiency in painting skill, I'd like to make them look as good as possible. My question is this; is there a way to craft a stamp, sponge, or stencil, of some sort, in order to more easily do the green scaling pattern that appears on pieces of Alpha Legion armor? I'm pretty sure if I try to freehand them, they'll end up a travesty.

Thanks before hand for the advice!

Stencil and stamps are probably wont work on something as small and complex shaped as infantry.

Here is a pretty simple guide for it though

Agreed, the only thing that's made me better is reading up on techniques and painting more and more! Practice makes perfect!

Another vote for practice from me. Check my gallery out, I've only really been painting a year, but the improvement is fairly obvious.
