Putting some finishing touches on my Grey Knights, and I had a curious question. Anyone know where to get some plasma guns on the sly? Bitz barn has them for three bucks apiece, but since I need nine of them, that's a bit steep. Anyone know where a brother could find some real plasma guns or some third party substitutes for a more reasonable price?

You can buy plasma guns on the gw site. Click on the bitz section under space marines and scroll toward the bottom. Its a set of 5 for 10 bucks.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Plasma pistols seem to have no demand and an absurd amount of supply. So they should be cheap (I had tons of them so I didn't have to buy them). Cut them up and slap them on a bolter or other cheap gun and you've got plasma.

I actually cut up IG flamers (very cheap on ebay) and attached plasma pistols to them.

Yeah, this is really the best deal.

True, probably the best combination of price and (lack of) time spent converting. My plasma pistol idea is cheaper though, but then some converting is required.

I have a few packs of these and I really like how they look on models, not too pricey compared to some bitz sites and sometimes you can grab them on ebay cheap. http://www.kromlech.eu/kromlech-products/human-bits-c9/krcb024-plasma-rifles-g106.html.

Well the FW heresy PG are bought in packs of 10, look great and are relatively cheap (for FW) and I saw some "Acid Guns" on Puppetswar that looked dead like them. Didn't see a price though.

Is it just me or is the FW site horrible to navigate? Sure if I want to find a plasma gun I can search for plasma. But if I wanted to look at various guns with various names where do I go? Looks like I have to poke around in 20 different places

Nerdfest, that link didn't work for me. Gave me an error message.

Those Anvil ones look good, but isn't there a mad rush of people buying them to use as grav weapons?

Another alternative to plasma guns would be the Volkite rifles from Forgeworld at only 10 for £11.00.

Wait, I use this as melta because of the fuel. Forgot to say, anvil ones are really good but do not scale well with regular gw weapons, the former being bulkier.

Their page with all their weapons on one page is actually a hassle. I prefer the FW way, where weirdly named guns are hidden away all over the site.

Those Forgeworld ones actually come out to a fairly reasonable price per gun. Now I just need to wait for someone else to make a FW order so I don't have to eat that astronomic shipping cost.
