My tau have not been fairing the way I would like so I am going in a new direction with them. Will be using allies for the first time so advice is appreciated. FYI use Riptides is not the kind of advice I want or need.

The fact that there are seven troop choices makes me feel pretty safe about capturing objectives. The local meta includes two guard mech spam, they spams Leman Russ tanks and Vendetta, an Eldar Wave Serpent spam list with fliers, a Hell Drake spam list, and Dark Eldar Venom spam. There is a Tyranid Flyrant/Termagant spam list, but he doesn't give me trouble. Other less troubling lists feature drop pods, three players run these, and Land Raiders two players play them.

Did not know this, must have read the codex incorrectly. This is an easy fix however, replace with:

The Ethereal makes the Firewarriors worth taking. The amount of fire power that comes out of three squads of Firewarriors with Storm of Fire is outrageous, and they have taken down many a monstrous creature for me. However thanks to saved points I will also be giving him a Homing Beacon, giving me the option to accurately Deepstrike suits.

The Early Warning Overrides on these suits is to deter drop pod Space Marines and teleporting Terminators from approaching me to closely on their initial appearance. This helps protect my tanks from second turn melta which has been quite devastating in the past.

The Target locks prevent them from having to shoot at fliers with the now two commanders that will be joining them, but they will no longer be taken as I can not have two CaCN or MSSS.

He was intended to go in the above squad, but will no longer be taken do to the above mentioned signature systems limitations. Instead the below will be taken in their stead:

Would prefer to have more ground infantry, the extra S 5 makes the other two squads even more effective, and with the Ethereal grouped with them they will put out all together an astonishing 78 shots at 15"!

You clearly don't have a Hell Drake list or a Necron flying circus list in your local meta. I need all of the Skyfire vehicles I can get, as the vehicles often outlive the infantry

I disagree respectfully. These suits can not Intercept with twin-linked weapons as the CaCN can only be used in their shooting phase. As a result I am firing 8 non twin-linked shots at something, which will probably be a flier, and I will land but one measly hit. Considering most of the fliers in my meta are AV 12 that is not sufficient to have any effect at all. The CaCN and MSSS give them and the now two commanders joining them 16 twin-linked S 7 AP 4 shots a turn. Those shots can be split with 8 BS 5 shots going towards a flier and 8 BS 3 shots going towards a skimmer or infantry squad. and because of the MSSS they ignore the cover of infantry squads, making Rangers, Guard, and Space Marine Scouts hiding in cover child's play to deal with. As well as ignoring both jink saves and evasive maneuvers, which when used in conjunction with the Puretide Engram Neurochip will make mince meat of fliers and skimmers. Say good by to Wave Serpents and Hell Drakes.

Also question, can I take Longstrike twice?

Can you update your original list to reflect what changes you made. And you may be able to take him twice using one in your allies but i dont know if it works that way otherwise you could take a double Farsight Bomb.
