Im playing a small friendly game soon.
I wanted to see how dev centurions will pan out with the new chapter tactics. (will be proxying them with Dreadnoughts)
HQ - librarian, epistolary, terminator armor, ss.
2x Tac - w heavy bolter.
Centurion squad - Las/ML, Las/ML, Grav/GravAmp, omniscope.
Drop pod for centurions - or- Rhino for one of the TACs.
750
I figure I could either suicide the Cent's into his deployment zone and pray for the best.
Or keep them close to my half of the board and use my Tac's and their rhino as cover

Not too much that can be tweaked at this point level.
I'd definitely grab a rhino for a tactical squad - gives you so much needed mobility and cover as you mentioned. The centurions should hang back and pick off whatever comes into LoS. Podding them would just make them vulnerable to assaults from dedicated CC units.

Figured that'd be the safer bet.
Thanks for the advice

You actually can't drop pod the cent's either, they can only take a raider. so definitely go with the rhino!

Really? Don't they just count as Very bulky and take up 3 model spots in any given transport?
I read the land raider as being their Dedicated transport. I dont see anything about them 'only' allowed to take the raider.

If it isn't listed as thier dedicated transport they can't take it at all if itin the dedicated transport section. There is probably something else in the codex stating that Centurions can only take land raides, same applies to terminators. Pretty solid list though.

I've recently played a 750 points tournament at the local GWS and used Imperial Fists with quite good results.
First up, terrain in 6th is awesome, just had to say that.
The tourny was a doubles tournament using Allied FOC.
That out of the way, here's what I used, 747 pts:
HQ
Lvl 1 Libby, always rolling on Biomancy, love that table
Elite
Vanilla Dread with Multi Melta and Heavy Flamer under the CCW, with Pod + Deathwind
Troops
5x Marine suicide squad with Combi Melta and Melta, with Pod + Deathwind
8x Marine objective grabber squad with Combi Plasma and Plasma, with Pod + Deathwind
Fast
Landspeeder with Heavy Flamer and Multi Melta
Heavy
5x Marines with 2x Plasma Cannons, and 1x Flakk Missile Launcher
I was allied with my mates Tau (which I understand goes some ways to explain why we were quite successful).
The pods gave me the tactical flexibility to be able to drop them empty, and act as LOS breakers and to drop pie plates in the enemy deployment zone. Ignore them at your peril. In saying that, the Dread always came down on turn 1, there was always something to pop.
The biggest mindset hurdle that I got over was not taking full squads of Marines; they just seem to work better (for me) as smaller squads, especially at this small points value.
My MVP was definitely my Librarian! I'll never go to war without him again!
Just thought I would share what has been quite a flexible and fun list at 750, both in the tournament, and in 1 on 1 games.

I like the list, but wouldn't this have worked better using vulkan and Salamander tactics? what with all the flame and melta. Vulkan may have been too pricy to get in there though.
How did tank hunter work out for your Dev marines?

You're right, Vulkan would have worked. But the Fists chapter tactics were very useful for the most part. I love Bolter Drill. Tank Hunters wasn't the best, because if I hit a vehicle it was either penned and asploded, or I failed to even glance :S
Back to Vulkan, I couldn't use him. My force is painted Fists, and the store is pretty big on WYSIWYG when using specific chapter tactics.
Besides, my force kept with the relatively short ranges siege theme for the most part. Or at least, that's how I played them.
