Ok this is my idea for an army, this time using Death Company. I know they are not overly competitive
but they look fun and they bypass the challenge in the assault phase...
The main emphasis of this army is a wall of troops being supported by scoring units.

130 - Reclusiarch (1)
780 - Death Company (30) 2x Thunder Hammer, 2x Power Axe

075 - Sanguinary Priest (1) Jump Pack
225 - Assault Squad (10) 2x Meltagun, Power Sword

075 - Sanguinary Priest (1) Jump Pack
225 - Assault Squad (10) 2x Meltagun, Power Sword

This comes to 1510 points. What I am concerned about is that there is only two scoring units and they will move a lot faster than the death company.
I think this army needs to have more scoring units that can stay behind the death company moving onto objectives as the DC clear them.
The assault squads move out to the sides of the board and claim objectives there.

So... I am looking for feedback on the current list and suggestions on what to add to bring the list up to 2000 points... (Tactical Squads???) Thanks

What sort of opponents do you intend to fight?

It looks like you're lacking in ranged firepower. Maybe add one or two 5 man tac squads with razorbacks and backfield objective holders.

Death Company have had a boost with the new rules, but even then, that's far too many points you're sinking into the unit. I'd halve the numbers, ditch most of the Thunder Hammers in favour of Power Weapons (probably about a 3:1 ratio, but keep most of your guys with basic loadout).

Assault Squads look good, might be worth ditching the Jump Packs for a Drop Pod for Turn 1 Melta. With the points free-ed up from the DC modifications you might want to put a Dreadnought or two in there: At 1500 points there's just too few units to pose much of a threat. Sure the DC will pack a massive punch when they hit, but without Jump Packs, they'll lose quite a few when foot-slogging.

Thanks for replying.

I'm not sure on the opponents but mostly space marine I think.

Yes two tac squads in razorbacks is a good idea maybe this...?

180 - Tactical Squad (5) Razorback, lascannon, TL plasma gun
180 - Tactical Squad (5) Razorback, lascannon, TL plasma gun

Though still 130 points left over....

Valkyrie could you type up your improved list please? (Though I'd like to keep the assault units as they are please) Also won't FnP etc stop the DC from taking too many casualties?

Thanks

Well FNP will help but it took a bit of a hit being reduced to 5+ instead of 4+, and as Plasma seems to be "in" with 6th Edition, you might find your guys dying quite easily, so it might help to take some guys out and use the points to give the others Jump Packs. My Blood Angels focus around Tac Marines and heavier armour, so it'd be noticeably different from yours.

If I have some time tomorrow I could post my list, but it might be inaccurate since I left my Blood Angels at home when I came to uni...

Ok thanks much appreciated.

Been tossing around this...

130 - Reclusiarch
270 - Death Company (9) 2x Thunder Hammer, 2x Power Axe

Not sure how to transport them quickly, would a drop pod work?
Do thunder hammers take up extra room in transports?

Would a unit of DC this size be effective without transport? (They have Bolters)

A drop pod would work, but as you said they'd stand around for a turn before they could assault.
Thunder hammers do not take up extra space.
Without a transport and without jump packs, they wouldn't be great. They need JPs or a Transport.
