OK

Okay, so here is an ork list that I have been working on for some time for a tournament this Saturday.
I would appreciate any thoughts or changes.
The hardest thing was deciding on what to run as my 2nd HQ for double FOC. I was going to originally take a cheap boss with a boyz squad, but I think bikerbosses are just too good.

HQ
Bikerboss (cybork, BP, PK)
Bikerboss (cybork, PK)

Elites

6 Lootas
6 Lootas
6 Lootas

Troops

All cybork

25 shoota boyz

Dis filfy git wantz ta know?

This list i do like. I like it alot and i have ran a few waterdown versions of it. And those were at 1850pt. I like the 6x6 loota spam behind the wall with the kannons for a great gunline.
The quad gun is just another loota with skyfire and intercept ^^
I dont think there is much wrong with this list. But alpha strikes (droppods) and dread knights will laugh at you.
Also maybe switching some boys for a few extra crew for the guns might help as t7 grot is broken as this gunline is pretty much ur hope.
Gl sir!

OK

Thanks a lot. I've been working on this list for a while.
I plan on having one of the grot crew man the quad gun.
I'm still debating putting more grot crew because as it stands I can put one of front to lose without having to take a morale check, which I do not want happening at Ld 5. I also don't want to lose too many more boyz because I'm already cringing at only 85 in a 2k list, but it is an option.
Anyways, I figure if my opponent is shooting at my T7 artillery instead of my bikers than that works well for me.
I do agree that Dreadknights would do a number on me, as my bikers can't really counter it (since the force weapon would mulch my warbosses before they can FnP), but I don't think there will be any.
I expect to fight at least one wraithknight though and with 2 warbosses I can safely deny a challenge while the rest of the squad goes to town on it.
I expect to be fighting a drop pod list too but I know if I just spread out in my DZ he will come down and then be extremely vulnerable to the green tide after he's standing there.

Full on 2k pod lists can bring soooo many flamers that they will devastate you befor you get to send ur tide at them. And remember pod lists always get to shoot first. And if its squads od 5 men ur wasting ur mobs of 5men

The flamers would have already done there job melting lootas or your boyz

OK

Yeah very true, but at least in this meta the pods are mostly melta. I guess if somebody brings a flamer pod list tailored to beat me then there's not much I can do lol.

Hmmn looking this list over you could squeeze in another fortification with icarus or quad ..more intercept means fewer drop pods..over all a good list ..

To be honest, i'd change the lootas to 3 units of 12.
Much less chance of them running away and they can actually kill things then.

On average 6 lootas will get 12 shots, 4 of which hit.
Even wounding and killing with all 4 thats not doing a great deal.

Failing that, i'd go for 2 units of 15 and drop the last 6 for 90 more points.
Throw that 90 points into a unit of gretchin to fire the gun since they will have the highest BS in the army.
Otherwise, the quad really is just a waste.

Why? The pods are still going to drop and disgorge their contents. Intercept happens at the end of your opponents movement phase, then they choose to either shoot the pod, or it's contents, not both. Skyfire only means you can Intercept at full BS.

I don't know why, but some people seem to think that you can obliterate a pod before it lands with Interceptor, but fortunately, that's a falacy.

Also, OP, watch out for empty drop pods dropping with Deathwind Missile Launchers. They can't shoot until after the turn they arrive, but Str 5 will do a number on your green tide :S

The reason they are broken up is that in the era of wave serpents Lootas get shot up like nothing. 3 units of 12 also has the same firepower as 6 units of 6, just more options to fire at different targets.

Also, I don't see how the quad gun is a waste, because I don't see anything that prevents the other grot crew from firing the quad gun.

Also skabfang, yes those empty pods definitely are an extreme nuisance. I think my bikerstar being able to split into 3 units on demand can help with things like that.
