Was wondering if anyone knew the point value of the DA and CSM armies in the Dark Vengeance starter set. Can't seem to find it through Google or dakka search but being an owner of this set I would like to know. I haven't calculated the CSM army even though I have the codex (I will tonight) but I don't have the DA one so can't tell. Appreciate any info!

Officially, I have absolutely no clue.

Using JustDave's excellent FanDexs I got:
Chaos: 620pts
Space Marines: 762pts

Chaos Lord with Power Sword and Plasma pistol = 90pts
Helbrute = 100pts
10 Cultists with autoguns = 61pts
10 normal cultists = 50
5 Chosen, Normal, Normal, Lightning Claws, Power Axe, Power fist and Champion with Power Weapon = 175pts

So in total The Chaos are worth 476pts.

Dark Angels
Company Master…………115 points
-Combi-Plasma, Power Sword

Interrigator Chaplain……………110

Librarian………65

Tac. Squad………255
-10 marines, sgt. W/ Plasma Pistol, Plasmagun, Plasma Cannon

Terminator Squad…………240
-Assault Cannon

3 Ravenwing Bikers………95
-Plasma Gun

Its near 800 points depending on wether you want to upgrade Sergeants to veterans or give them Meltabombs.

jeez, 476 CSM vs 880 DA if you include the chaplain. No wonder when I tried to fight them out normally it wasn't even close!

the chaplain is 125 per the faq, remember he has a plasma pistol

I'm getting 65 for the Autogun squad. Have you factored in the Heavy Stubber, and I think you are adding a point somewhere as well.

The Starter box sets are usually skewed towards the Marines players. Look at 3e, a squad of marines and a land speeder vs 15 Dark Eldar? really?

His other threads demonstrate he is new to the game. Raising awareness about free resources, rather than having to drop £60 on Codecies, as well as roughly answering his question seemed to be helpful to me- even though *actual* points costs may have been preferred.

I forgot the Heavy Stubber, but I counted 9 autoguns, and one shotgun on the champion.

£60? STERLING?! Hell of a price hike, even for GW. Last I check the regulars were only 30, 35 for the SM one. Maybe you thinking Ozzy prices?

I only count 8. 20 models, 2 Champions, 2 Specials, leaves 16. 8 and 8.

Oh well that explains it! I was genuinely worried for my Tyranids there that I couldn't afford the regular codex never mind the Limited Edition!
