Well, here are some more of my Super Dungeon heroes.

When I went to Gencon, I decided to group them together and enter them into the unit category. They landed me some prize swag from Sodapop:

The Sister of Light and Hearthsworn Fighter weren't part of the party I took to Gencon, but they were quite fun to paint.

And although I've posted them before, I round out the entry with the Starguild Sapper, Deeproot Scout and Van Wilding

Amazing. My favorite is the red hatted fellow with the massive hammer. Great stuff, and I love the vibrant colors.

Yeah, he's one of my favorites too. I think of him as a steampunk version of Mario (the expansion contained a bunch of koopa troopers as well).

Love the 'Mario' and 'Link'. Did you consider painting an 'M' on his head bandana?

Absolutely amazing work! As Astroman has said, the vibrant colours work so well with these miniatures, and you've really managed to invoke the 80's/90's JRPG-style.

Can I ask what colour you went from with the base undercoat? And also, are these the miniatures from the standard set?

Thanks.

@Pacific- These minis are from all of the major sets- there's some from the base game and a couple from each expansion (Mario and Link are from Caverns of Roxor, Richter Belmont and the Cleric are from Von Drak's Manor).

@Sing your life- I really love the way that Order of the Stick treats skin tones. There isn't a standard color for humans- he uses a little bit of every color people come in. The result is that no one looks like they were added for ethnic diversity- rather they just all look like people.

When I first started painting Super Dungeon minis, I did two of them with exactly the same skin tone, then decided to vary it from there. I've tried to keep it somewhat within the range of human, but really spread it over quite a bit from there.
