Everyone CALM DOWN. Many necron enthusiasts would baulk at the thought of such a thing, the necron working alongside humans, but if you give me a moment to explain I would be thankful. Ok, so I don't know if it's so true in the new edition scouts still have Homing Beacons... Monolith, Deathmarks, Veil of Darkness so on and so forth can be used to make a highly effective army if they could just all deep strike perfectly... OH WAIT! Scouts can now be used well. After placing the beacons they can retreat because of the desperate allies thing and allow my deathmarks to deploy, leaving me with two squads to snipe from a vantage points? Is this fair, or possible with the new rules? Please tell me.

They've already whored themselves out to the GK, so why not C:SM?

Doesn't work. They're desperate allies, and the locator beacon only works on friendly models. At least that's how I understand it.

As for precision deep striking; just jump out of Night Scythes.

Deathmarks start in reserve. It still works, no reason it can't. Night Scythes are also high up in the sky (I do precision drops of my lychguard and overlord squad with one) and it can't help monoliths get anywhere (I want this so they can strike safely.)

You have no idea how the different levels of alliance work , do you?

Desperate allies are treated as enemy models - they don't benefit from other books' wargear.

Yes, but it doesn't say target a unit. It says if you deep strike a unit it won't scatter, which means it doesn't 'co-operate' as such.

That's like saying you could benefit from your opponents locator beacons -- it doesn't work like that.

Also locator beacons DO say "friendly models" in their rules which further invalidates your idea.

Your missing the point, enemy models do not gain any use or benefit from another armies wargear.
SM + Crons are still classed as enemies, even when they ally.

So even if you do run them together, they cant make use of eachothers wargear.

Youy should really read the locator beacon rules.

It says friendly units.

The deathmarks are NOT friendly units.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

I've seen people argue against wargear being shared between allies but I have never seen a rule forbidding it. Am I missing something?

Page 112 (ish), the Allies Matrix says Desperate Allies are treated as ENEMIES that cannot be targeted by shooting attacks, psychic powers etc.
Locator Beacons state that FRIENDLY models may deepstrike within 6" without scatter.
See the problem?

I see the problem. Anyone wonder why I asked?
