Tau are so bad at CC, they can't even kill themselves. My necron lord got up and use Mind Shackle Scarabs on a riptide, 3 turns of it punching itself in the face. Barely hurt itself, my warlord had to kill it on his own.

How bad are Tau at CC? I once killed off an entire tau army at 1k points using just a Chaos Lord who boon'd into a DP. He lost almost his entire retinue on overwatch, friend accepted challenge(Dear god why as Tau.) got steamrolled and I rolled the Dark Apotheosis.

Won combat on his turn, sweep'd the squad and got into CC with his HQ, of course Challenged. Oh my the Dark Gods have blessed me, rolled a 65 for multiple rewards; +1 to armor save, Reroll failed armor saves, and FNP. At that point we both started laughing as my DP just walked around gobbling up unit after unit.

and that was the last time my Chaos Lord ever made it across the board.

"Friend accepted challenge"
Probably to stop it from mulching more than 1 model in hopes of surviving the round.
Its smart for a lot of other assaulty things but getting lucky on the boooooon is always funny.

But yeah MCs tend to wreck tau face most of the time.

It was just a basic Lord with a crap load out, so denying the challenge probably would of been safer. I didn't build him too cheesy, it was a throw away fun zerker orientated list I threw together in like 2 minutes when we got bored of playing Orks vs Tau one day.(Distraction Kans all day everyday.)

What army do the tau play best at CC against and worst against? I know they're terrible against all armies but just wondering.

Waaaaaaaaaaaagh!

I guess they can do best against IG. Guardsmen are pretty darn terrible.

I once had a Eldar farseer try and take on my steath team in CC, of which i did one wound, he ran and the steath team shot him as he fled.

The O'vesa Star is actually pretty great at CC.
