These are all questions that depend on other answers. Do you want night goblins to stand and fight or do you want them to just be a caddy for fanatics? What's the overall strategy for the army?

I was going to fill them up with fanatics. But I am not real sure of a tactic yet. Many have already said Night Gobos and Savage Orcs but what lay out is where I am lost. I have 43 Orc boys and 40 Night Gobos sitting in a box with no arms because it am afraid to put the wrong arms on. Are spears they weapon of choice the way the were years ago. Last time I played we were still pulling cards out of a deck for magic.

- It depends what you want the NGs to do. Bows work well when coupled with the Poison Banner, but otherwise I would go with Hand Weapon + Shield, for the extra survivability from the parry save.

- 5 if you want a bunker, 10 if you want a horde. 10 is usually best as you can normally get 40+ models in the unit.

- Orc Boyz should always be savage, and run with extra hand weapons for the extra attack. Hand Weapon + Shield is a decent option for a pseudo-bunker, but NGs do that better.

- 10. Horde = more attacks.

Nah. Savages are the best bunker for Orc characters. Which you will end up taking most of the time. They're surprisingly the most durable unit in the book, because of the 5+ ward. Which they WILL have.

Ok I admit I have not yet bought the BRB for Fantasy so please explain are bunker/horde's a rule or just slang?
I can look through a friends when we get together and don't want to waste time looking for a rule that isn't there, haha.

Bunker is slang, horde is rule.

A 'bunker' is just a (usually inexpensive) unit to hide a character in so that they can't be sniped by shooting or most magic spells outside of Death. If the unit gets shot, the character is safe.

A 'horde' is any unit that has 10 models or more per rank, and grants the bonus of an extra row of supporting attacks. A 'horde' of Monstrous Infantry or Monstrous Cavalry only needs 6 wide to get the bonus.

You'll get used to what's slang and what's rules after a while on this forum, don't worry! Deathstar is not a rule, just to let you know.

@thedarkavenger: A unit of Savages is the most durable unit with it's 5++, but that's the unit I'm going to be wanting to do some killing. It'll see combat fairly often, and combat is not the best place for many characters who want bunkering to be.

Ok I have heard a couple of people say to put the poison standard in my goblin archers but I use Night Gobos and they can't take it, so can I take a normal Gobo character and have him join the night Gobos??

That's the idea: put it on a normal Goblin BSB.

It's not the only way to do it though. Personally, I prefer a Black Orc BSB with the Talisman of Preservation.
