So, I'm going to be playing a series of games in a local tournament. 2v2, 4K per side. My partner is playing an Inquisitorial force and I want to complement his both in gameplay and fluff. His army is basically a lot of henchmen in chimeras, coteaz, and a storm raven.

Here is what I'm thinking.....

(FA) Scout Sentinel (2) w/ (2) lascannon - 100 pts

(HS) Leman Russ Exterminator w/ bolter sponsons - 170 pts

So....Primaris Psykers are rolling with the plasvets. Meltavets are inserted by the vendettas. Manticores sit on the landing pad for the 4+ invul save and rain death. Psyker battle squads advance and either weaken Ld on strong units prior to manticore bombardment or drop the S9 AP D6 attack on whoever gets in the way. Leman Russ supports either the Psykers or the plasvets and the Scout Sentinals outflank and try to pop vehicles on the side armor before being taken out. I wanted to go psyker-heavy as it seems to fit with the Inquisitorial theme. A small force of specialists and psykers supported by heavy firepower. Thoughts?

The Pskers are terrible buddy I don't know anyone who plays them to any real good, also at 2k you only have four scoring units which can be a game changer if your playing objectives.

Other than that the list looks good mate.

I've actually seen them used to great effect in concert with pinning weapons. Considering they will basically drop a units leadership to 2, a single shot from a manticore is generally enough to pin the unit, if not force a morale check and have them running off the board. They can be very useful if used correctly.

And yes, I only have 4 scoring units, but my partner has 6. I feel 10 between the two of us isn't bad.

I like it, but be very aware that this list can be neutered by space wolf runic weapons or other any psyker tactics. Also be aware of a large amount of fearless units that are functionally immune to your pinning tactic. But don't be down trodden, you also have access to some very powerful combos such as one psyker squad using weaken resolve and then a Primaras pyker using psykic screech on a Ld 1 unit. I've seen it wipe entire units of the board. Psyker defences are usually psykers themselves, leaving themselves open the stormravens psyk-out missiles and vindicares (MAKE your ally take one, they are amazing. 4d6+3 rending armour pen you say?).

The only changes I would make is to swap the sentinels and the heavy bolter sponsons (You want to fire the auto cannons at vehicles, you don't want to fire your bolters at vehicles) for a Hellhound. You have lots of ways to brake transports, but not to many to handle the things that get out. The Hellhound is really underestimated in the fact it has scary long range (12 inch move, plus 12 inch torrent, plus 8 inch template) and can fire the flame turret and a multimelta while moving at cruising speed. Its great against xenos armies that are pretending to rule the roost right now as well as good at flushing out people from a defence line. Maybe you could get your hands on your allies list so we could match them better?

I do like the hellhound suggestion. I feel if I am going to do that, then I'll just change the LR to a LRBT since I'll only have the main gun firing. I'll see if I can get his list from him. I believe he is running coteaz, plasma cannon servitor squads, crusader/deathcult assault squads, psyker battle squads, and a vindicare assassin.

Here is my updated list. I understand that there are plenty of anti-psyker units out there. But considering I have 2 strong fliers, 2 strong arty units, and some mobile vet squads, I feel I'll be alright if my psykers can't be productive. As long as they aren't easily shut down, I can see them causing some serious damage to enemy armies. And yes, the psychic shriek combo can be devastating.
