So, i'm having trouble picturing what happens when a grav-gun is shot. Is it a like a beam, or a bullet? Does the shooter fire at the feet of the enemy or dead center?
You probably won't see it due to it being gravity and all. You probably would see them fall down and get squashed into a gory pancake though.

Tbh, the sound would bones cracking under the weight of the armour magnified by a hundred. I'm having hard time imagining it having a sound of any kind except perhaps a bit of a *zooom* when the effect is triggered.

Subject: Re:What would a Grav-gun's beam look like?
I can see it like the Force Crush ability of the Jedi. Just point at the target with the gun, pull the trigger and it got crushed. Or something like the Gravity Gun in Half-Life 2.
If you fire it in atmosphere ther would be a ripple of air displacement as all the air molecules in the way of the beam get heavier and fall. Depending on how fast it happens there might be a whoosh or a crack sound as the atmosphere closes around the new pressure diferential plus whatever weird sci-fi humming noise comes from the gun itself.

Everyone knows gravity weapons shoot dark colored ball shaped projectiles. That's how gravity always looks.

I assume the grav gun's machine spirit calculates the location of the target and increases gravity at that location. Kind of like the weapons in Enders game, it targets a specific location.

Inquisitorial lesson #298: Why to Hate Choas Gods, cont'd-
With Chaos, Tzeench would probably turn your hands, feet and face into
scrotums, complete with appropriate nerve endings. Then Khorne would
force you and all your friends to fight to the death using your new
scrotal appendages. Once they get tired of that, you get tossed to
Slaanesh who <censored by order of the Inquisition>, until you finally
end up in Nurgle's clutches and he uses you as a loofah.

... at least in GW's books.
"[...] When fired, the graviton gun emits a bass rumbling noise which grows louder as its weight distorting rays affect the air pressure in front of it, causing the air itself to vibrate." - 2E Wargear book
I'm assuming this hasn't changed? Does this weapon have no fluff in the new Marine Codex?

Aren't those the little rodent things that hop around everywhere?
Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

yup.
It would be like running up to someone, yelling 'GERBIL' and watching them implode...
In other words, AWESOME

Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so

I sort of imagine it like a cross between the fallout Gauss Gun and the Halo gravity hammer effect, making a sort of "vwoosh" noise like the halo 3/reach gravity hammer.

The target of a grav gun need not be killed. They might just be weighed down so mch they can't move and therefore combat ineffective. Of course if they're weighed down heavily enough they also won't be able to breathe... The original grav guns frm Rogue trader just reduced the target's movement.
