So... the new Inquisitorial book is apparently lacking Celestine, and with her model on the soon to be gone list at GW, what do you guys think? It was a kick in the gut to hear she isn't in the Imperial Agents book, and since the new Canoness sold out in minutes, maybe a new model? It was a sign to GW that people want plastic Sisters. She remains my favorite named character in 40k and I'm an extra sad panda that she might be going the way of Valeria, Squats, Chaplain Xavier...

Better to wait for more solid information before worrying about it.

Yep...she is gone. Pretty much the only saving grace of our codex removed. Not to mention the new sisters detachment requires an elites tax (which apparently can be filled by two deathcult assassins...so 30 pts) but the only benefit is rerolling 1s on saves...for a single turn. Yawn. I just don't understand how space marines can be given special rules like candy and everyone else just gets a big old dump sandwich.

And my thought is there's almost no way that plastic sisters are coming after this debacle. Because unlike GSC, who also had a similar low level of interest from the community, there aren't any new or exciting (or powerful) rules to convince people to pick up the army now. Who (amongst current non-sisters players) would waste their money like that?

Take it to the rumors thread and just discuss tactics here. We don't need to turn this into a dumpster fire too.

Actually GSC is doing very well in tournaments.

If you're talking to me you need to work on your reading comprehension. That was my point. GW took an army no one cared about (GSC) and gave them a load of new models and new rules that are actually competitive. And SURPRISE, people are buying and playing them...AND they are doing very well.

This pantload isn't going to get anyone to play Sisters, and seems to be a clear indication that they aren't serious about releasing new kits or expanding/improving the army.

And as to the tactics, we lose our best HQ (especially in any competitive sense), and that was what I was confirming. Pretty related and on topic as she is a huge part of my Sisters strategy. So I guess I will have to change up or give up...and at this point it is looking like give up and focus on one of my other armies. Sad, but not wholly unexpected.

Again, please take it to the Rumors thread until we actually know what is in the book. We don't need two dumpster fires.

I heard that the command squad was moved to the elite section meaning we can take up to 3 of them in a CAD. Has anyone else heard this?

I avoid watching BOLS videos. I enjoy the heck out of the podcast though.

Seems likely.
Better would be to take 2 DCA as an elite choice for 30 points. THen, you can take an Immolator for them. 90 points for an Immolator... that would be decent, and a great blocker for a squad of dominions in an Immolator.

Now that we've had a look at the Vestal Detachment, is there a great reason to use it? It's a CAD where you trade Obsec for a turn of rerolling ones on saves. Worth it?

I was playing around earlier with a list that looked like this:

Cannoness

3x command squads 4-5 heavy/special weapons and a transport

2 min BSS squads (2x flamers rhino)

3x domms the usual (4x melta immos)

2x exorcist

Pretty sure I can squeeze this all into 1500pts.

It's the I have more special/heavy weapons then boltguns list

Before you needed 3 Canoness to unlock 3 command squads.

Now you can take up to 3 of them with only a single Canoness or none at all if you like.

For my list above to be legal I would need to be running double cad in order to fit in 3 Canoness and have to add another 2 troops. I don't think I could fit everything into 1500pts if I had to add 2 more Canoness and 2 more BSS.

It's more points efficient now.

Cause you were only talking about the rumors. We are now talking tactics. It's not rocket science.

I realize that this is a bit of a stretch, but we haven't seen any points changes. We have seen the DCA datasheet which moves them to elites.

Sisters Full MSU CAD
Canoness - pistol and Chainsword and Rosarius (80) (Rides in a rhino with a BSS)

Elites
2 DCA w/Melta Immolator (90)
2 DCA w/Melta Immolator (90)
2 DCA w/Melta Immolator (90)

Troops
BS Squad(5 total) Flamer/Heavy Flamer and Rhino (115)
BS Squad(5 total) Flamer/Heavy Flamer and Rhino (115)
BS Squad(5 total) Flamer/Heavy Flamer and Rhino (115)

Fast Attack
Dominion Squad (5 total) 4 Meltas and a Flamer Immolator (165)
Dominion Squad (5 total) 4 Meltas and a Flamer Immolator (165)
Dominion Squad (5 total) 4 Meltas and a Flamer Immolator (165)

Heavy Support
Exorcist 125
Exorcist 125

That would be a total of 1440. Still plenty of room for a Knight.

I'd probably get vet or laud hailer for the doms. Swap a BSS for an exo, but the theory holds.

Thoughts on running a naked Canoness to feed slay the warlord in order to save points and trigger martyrdom?

We all know that T3 is paper thin but just what is the most reliable way to suicide an HQ as quickly as possible.

Third bss for objective secured... it wins games. If I didn't leave room for the Knight, a third exorcist is the next upgrade.

So we can take a Heretical Inquisitor and his warband and add a BSS squad to this.
To me, the unit of the Chambers Militant aren't added to the warband itself instead act on their own (They don't have the superscripted 1 (common, GW... couldn't you use some more interesting typographical mark, like the daggar?))

We've seen the BSS... Is there something that we can do with this (other than adding Pope-dreadnought, Karamazov).

Right now, until we see more, it only gets you a warlord trait and isn't a very appealing way to take a BSS.

all of the stuff that needs to go in the combined squad are 0-1. I guess that means that you don't actually have to have that squad if you don't want to?

Someone elsewhere said that them being in the Inquisitional Formation gave them Inquisition Faction which would potentially allow them to go in any D or other Inquisition faction Transports that the Inquisitor and friends has access to?

I guess we'll have to see what the options for the inquisitors are. I always liked to put inquisitors with the psyocculum into artillery units so they can shoot at psyker units ad BS 10. Great for madusa, nothing says 'Die Heretic' like a BS 10, S10 AP2 large blast with ordinance. But times change and tricks get replaced. Guess we'll see this weekend when I get the book.

Ashame about Celestine though. Hopefully some character can get jump packs, because i'll still use the fig and i'd rather WYSIWYG if the option is available.

Quick note on that... you'd still have the squad of Acolytes. I haven't seen the datasheet on them yet. However, the report is that their weapon options are the same, but their armor costs were cut in half.
I'm thinking that an Inquisition Warband may add some nice ranged shooting (Inquisitor, Acolytes with some plasma weapons and a pair of Weaponsmiths) along with the extra Warlord Trait.

Side note: all of the AoF I'm seeing have the "Until the end of the current turn" language. That isn't "Current PLAYER turn", which means game turn. If you pop your BSS AoF during your turn, you get preferred enemy in both turns of that combat. Not bad.

You have it backwards. Yes, they say until end of turn, but that means Player Turn.

GAME TURNS AND PLAYER TURNS
In a complete game turn, each player gets a player turn, divided into Movement, Psychic,
Shooting and Assault phases. One game turn therefore comprises two player turns – one
for each player. Whenever a rule refers to ‘a turn’ it always means ‘player turn’
unless it specifically refers to a ‘game turn’.
