So one of these exists for 'sisters of battle' and I used to collect imperial guard. I would like to see more heavy flying fortresses or possibly more infantry based heavy weapons.
My biggest reason for liking imperial guard was all the explosions. We could always use some more.
So what tanks, planes and heavy weaponry or other things would you like to see for the imperial guard?
We could also possibly use some more twin-linked weapons. Dunno if orders will still be around but i'm guessing no.

I don't want anything new whatsoever. I want what's in there to be pointed appropriately, and for model support to come out for everything that isn't in plastic. I hope orders stick around, since they're a pretty neat system to make command squads important over a leadership bubble like in older editions. I wouldn't mind some new orders too. If we're gonna get real crazy with it, I'd like to see doctrines done the same way the Space Marine codex does Chapter Tactics.

Bump the price of a vendetta and take away it's transport capacity. Make ogryns and storm troopers affordable for what they are. Buff the LRBT slightly and make sentinels worth it. I want to use the crap I got when I first started collecting IG because te models and fluff were cool.

The most important thing for me honestly is better internal balance, which I'm actually pretty optimistic about since it seems most of the 6th edition codices have multiple viable builds.
If we're getting specific, I know everyone is clamoring for the Vendetta to go up to 200 points, but I honestly think a 20 point hike and MAYBE the loss of transport capacity would be sufficient. I'd like the LRBT to be improved slightly, though I'm not entirely sure how. It would also be nice to have a Russ variant that's good at taking out other tanks (Vanquisher doesn't cut it, and the rest do anti-infantry better than anti-tank).

Make Vanquishers AP 1. Give them a way to reroll misses.
Either buff the standard Battle Tank or lower it's cost.
Lower Pasks cost because he is too expensive for what he really does. Or at least make it so that he always gives a +1 to your weapon strength when shooting at vehicles. Maybe twin links your weapon?
Buff Grenade Launchers. You could double the shots and make it free or increase it's S/AP. They are worthless as is. A shame as I think military style grenade launchers are sweet weapons.
Give Doctrines again. It be cool if there was a doctrine that lets you take Conscripts by themselves.
Allow Penal Legionaries to select what role they are going to take. Maybe make them stubborn veterans?

Cheaper Vendettas.
Vets with 10x special weapons for free.
Medusas get a barrage weapon.
Shadowsword gets a point drop to ~300 points and becomes a heavy support option.
A new fortification that gives a 2++ for all models within your own deployment zone and reduces assault distances to D6".
An option for artillery to take poison gas shells that remove any objective markers they hit (so you don't have to leave your deployment zone to win).
Minefields as a troops choice that make the space between deployment zones dangerous terrain that inflicts a wound with no saves allowed on a 3+ if you move more than 2" a turn through it.
Pretty much make gunlines an auto-win so I can stop having to think about anything but the shooting phase.
I think the standard battle tank is amazing. too powerfull as it is.
Lol, no. The standard LRBT is mediocre at best. It's alright at killing marines in the open when they get shot out of their transports and bunched up, but terrible at everything else.

Where I agree the Vendetta is too cheap, 200 points is too much. I think 150-160 is fair. Also you can't take away it's transport capacity as what about the people that have already modeled it inside, how do you go telling them "sorry your vehicle can't do that anymore"? Although, it should never have had it in the first place, that or it should have been limited to 5 people.
Doctrines sound like they could be fun as not everyone is a waac player and they would allow a nice amount of customisation with different options.
Keep orders just make them longer range with vox casters instead of the re-roll. Possibly some sort of defensive order that, if cast in your turn allows the squad to snap fire at bs2 or have the counter attack special rule. This is to represent the men getting into firing positions or them fixing bayonets and simply charging back (why not, they're expendable)
Storm troopers need a plastic kit (both model types, Kasrkins and inquisition) I also think they should be better than standard guardsmen seeing as they are meant to be at the peek of physical human fitness and skill without modification. So I think a better ws and ld (possibly initiative) would represent this well. Also I saw on another post on Dakka about a rule stormtroopers get in apoc games where, of they depart from a Valkyrie they can shoot, move and shoot again, all in the same turn; this is meant to show the enemy being off guard.. This and a point drop of 13-14 points a model instead would make them viable and not too powerful.
Ogryns being 30-35 points a model, stubborn (or higher leadership) and give the bone 'ead the option for a power weapon would, again, make them a viable option.
Leman Russes being able to fire their weapons normally again like they could in 5th ed without this stupid 'if you fire ordnance you can only snap fire the rest'
I could probably think of more things but i'm tired and this is enough for now.

Not according to GW.
And the leman russ is good against everything out in the open, except 2+ saves, but thats a stupid argument.
Lol, no. The LRBT is decent against marines in the open, mediocre at best against hordes in the open (since at 2" coherency you can't hit enough models to kill a horde effectively), and absolute garbage against vehicles, MCs, or TEQs. It's a very situational unit that performs poorly against a wide range of common target types. If anything it needs a boost (firing all guns at full BS despite ordnance would be a good start) to be a viable option in competitive lists.

Make Rough Riders playable.. I know this is a crazy stretch, but I mean the Death Korps riders are fantastic, but playing with them is not.
Ogryn fix? Yes please.
Vets.. fix these guys, why are veterans able to be taken as troops? I know I'm going to take serious flakk for this, but make vets like 0-2, or 0-1... this just makes very little sense that an entire army is compiled of veterans.
Raise Vendetta points so people aren't so upset anymore... I mean, it is pretty cheap.
Battle Doctrines is a great idea, but I think they're already doing supplements for Catachan and Cadian right?

It makes lots of sense. Even in the IG there are elite formations and a battle involving 3-4 veteran squads is perfectly fluffy.

who on earth keeps their models 2" apart at all times? especially horde armies. The bigger the army the closer together they become. Its great against hordes, no armour and depending on the army instant death. also the range of the gun means they sit back and pop off shots. Its a great tank vs infantry (why would you use against vehicles is beyond me...) but it can be usefull against some vehicles. The standard russ doesnt need to be fixed.
I agree about the veterans though in some ways (keep em troops) but i think Veterans shouldnt have orders like the platoons do.
With the rough riders id love to have them without the hunting lances, it would be cool to have shooty ones to act as fast infantry.
All of the Nid and Ork players in the GW store I play in space out their models. It's really easy, and if you're playing against an IG gunline, pretty much required if you wanna have a shot at winning. And how would Vets not be able to recieve orders fluffy or fix them? In my opniom, they don't need any fixing. They are fine as is. What I would like is someone to fix the Sentinels. They are so cool looking, and I would love to use them in my army in my mobile mech list.

Everyone who is facing blast weapons and doesn't want to lose. Even if it's not a perfect 2" every time it's going to be far more than the "every model in base contact in perfect template formation" people tend to assume when talking about how awesome the LRBT is against hordes.
Its great against hordes, no armour and depending on the army instant death.
So what? Hordes have one-wound models with no armor saves. A LR Eradicator is much better because it wounds on the same 2+ with no armor saves allowed, except it also ignores cover and gets to fire its hull and sponson HBs at full BS.
also the range of the gun means they sit back and pop off shots.
Its range is irrelevant because anything at long range will be spread out in good cover, where its main gun is laughably ineffective. The only targets out in the open will be stuff moving up close where the other variants can shoot it just fine.
Its a great tank vs infantry (why would you use against vehicles is beyond me...) but it can be usefull against some vehicles.
No, it's mediocre at best against infantry. And you need to be able to shoot at vehicles because vehicles exist. A pure infantry killer that isn't even great at killing infantry is not a good unit.
I agree about the veterans though in some ways (keep em troops) but i think Veterans shouldnt have orders like the platoons do.
So you're saying that the best troops in the army should be unable to benefit from advice/orders, while the horde of expendable conscripts should be great at making use of a superior officer's experience?

If you want to balance the game for fun, then you should bring up the other units that are lacking, instead of dragging down theu units that actually work down. Make the infantry squads and conscripts more viable than just weakining the Vets. And the fluff just doesn't fit the IG. It doesnt matter how experienced you are, if a superior officer tells you to do something you better
do it. If they didn't follow that rule, they probably wouldn't be Vets.

And what you're ignoring is that GW already makes stuff overpowered. I want my IG to be able to compete with 5-Riptide Tau, not to be an army with good internal balance that can never win against competitive opponents.

Well...there's a lot of problems with the current IG book. There's a few *really* good things, well, really at this point *one* really good thing, a range of decent units, and a huge amount of crap.
Even ignoring the awful state of vehicles in 40k that aren't either flyers or decently armored skimmers with bonus wargear (quantum shielding, holofields, disruption pods, etc), many IG tanks are just...awful. Hellhounds for almost as much as Trilas Predator? Leman Russ tanks with rear armor 10? Vanquisher tank hunters that are quite possibly amongst the least effective tank hunters in the game? Walkers that cost as much as the dedicated transports with half the firepower and less speed?
Then we have stuff like Ogryns, Stormtroopers, Ratlings, Rough Riders, Heavy Weapons squads etc that have potential to be both cool and useful but ultimately are neither.
As is, there's nothing wrong with Vets as troops, perhaps make them an upgrade to a Platoon (e.g. units may be upgraded to Vets at +X points), but fundamentally they're hardly broken and were only ever astounding good in the previous edition and only when mechanized.
A re-working of Orders and some Doctrine aspects would be really cool, as would Stormtroopers (ideally not the hideously overcosted wannabe space marines-that-cost-more-than-space-marines) as troops.
My great fear is that they put the Baneblade into the codex. I don't really think it'd be overpowered, especially with 6E's hilariously punitive vehicle rules, but it just doesn't belong...

My wishlist for Guard:
Drop vendetta to AV11 /11/10 and lose the transport capacity. 145 points.
Russ are all AV 14/13/11, can fire all weapons, and drop 15 points each. Vanq gets the FW HV stubber coax for free and is AP1.
Sentinals change to 25 points base +5 points for most weapon options (10 for lascannon and plasma cannon).
Autocannon option on chimeras.
Most artillery see a 10-30 point cost decrease.
Hellhound drop by 25 points
Remove "command squads". Instead have commanders that can permanently join any platoon maybe have retainer options that join with him. No reason why a commander should be so vulnerable.
Voxes are map wide
Guard-only defenses
Hydra gets interceptor or sees a 20 point drop. Comes out with non-FW kit.
Pistol+CCW option on all squads.
Army-wide doctrines. Hell, just put out 10 or so and have some be good and some not be. No matter what you do, people will always power-game upgrades. At least make it feel that different armies could play differently.
HWT have combined squad and are 20 points cheaper. Embedded HWT was amazing with DKoK.
Vets are 2x Spec weap and stormtroopers are 3x.
Few other things, but thats a lot of it.
