In 2 weeks time I'm gonna meet with 3 friends of mine. One of them plays CSM.
He enjoys playing 40k much, but he isn't into competetive playing and he doesn't read any forums much.
Yet still every time I teach him something new or show him some little combos he seems to enjoy our games even more.
I already taught him how to play daemon prince more or less. He knows about 30+ zombies with (forgot his name ^^) their lord. He himself owns and enjoys playing a blob of 20 Khorne bezerkers. Of course he nas already tried Heldrake.
But what are some other funny/strong units/combos that are worth telling him about? I'm not an expert when it comes to CSM so I'm asking you Dakka Dakka to help me a Little bit.

There's the tried and true stuff like minimum squads of terminators with combi-weapons, max squads of spawn with biker/steed lords, Kharn with blobs of cultists, abaddon in a land raider giving preferred enemy to everyone around him, and nurgle bikers.
If you throw daemon allies in there, you get tzeentch heralds presciencing forgefiends, warpsmiths comboing with soul grinders, grimoire'd tzeentch warp talons/possessed with 2++ saves, and pinpoint deepstriking CSM princes/warp talons/obliterators off of daemon icons.

omg I want to be there so badly....The Ultimate Chaos Marine and Daemon Incursion Force. Playing APOC rules and Formations. Hell, I'd write my own boards, rules, etc. at that point and really have some fun. Things like Chaos Boon and Warp Storm Table affect both Codex Armies. @__@ hhuuhhuhuhuhuhuh...
If only I was a millionaire, or had started playing 10 years back. ><

a squad of 5 havocs with 4 autocannons for 120 points. Khorne lord on juggernaut with axe of blind fury that could easily eat a squad of 5 termis in one round of combat. Deepstriking melta raptors and blowing up landraiders, kharn the betrayer denys the witch on 2+, daemon prince naked with ap2, with nurgle 2+ cover saves, with tzeentch only loses a wound on a roll of 2. hmmmm

Five or six Chaos Bikers are pretty good, specially if he wants to add in a Lord and Sorc to it to form a death star (if he doesn't use Typhus or his Demon Prince). A Bike Lord with them makes them Fearless and gives another option for challenges. Lightening Claw + Power Fist is a popular set up for the Lord because both are special weapons (+1 attack), and he can choose which weapon at the start of combat he wants to use (are all of his attacks at Str 8, AP 2, Init 1 or Str 4, AP 3, Init 5 with Shred). A lot of folk run Unmarked Bike Sorcs at Mastery level 3 with 3 rolls on Biomancy to get a decent chance (50%) at Endurance. An Unmarked Sorc can travel with a Marked unit, but gets no benefits from Marked only Icons. If the Sorc does take a Mark, he has to take at least 1 power from his God's list first. Remember that a unit or character with one mark can not travel with a unit with a different Mark. Make the Bikers Mark of Nurgle to be Toughness 6 or Mark of Slaanesh and give them a Icon of Excess for Feel No Pain and they are super survivable. Keep in Mind a Bike Lord of Slaanesh and even a Sorc of Slaanesh (if he decides to make him Marked) would also get the Feel No Pain. I strongly suggest any generic HQ choices take Sigil of Corruption for a 4++ save.
If he really loves his Demon Prince, suggest a Black Mace. The problem is that the DP with Wings, Power Armor, 3 Mastery Levels and the Black mace will be over 300pts. Personally I find them way to expensive. They are effective though, because the mace uses the DPs AP 2 over the weapons AP 4.
Five Plague marines in a Rhino with 2 plasma guns is a pretty solid troop choice. Do a mob of 10 and camp them in the center in cover and dictate the board.
Doing Slaanesh and doing five Noise marines with a Sound Blaster and Doom Sirin in a Rhino is effective, or a 10 man noise marine unit with 2 Sound Blasters and sonic weapons and a Icon of Excess for FNP can be a good troop choice for a gunline list.
Don't be afraid to throw Havoc Launchers on Vehicles for extra fire power (for camping/gunline units) and if he is running Land Raiders (and attacking Rhinos) make sure he has Dirge Casters on them. Land Raiders are the best way to use melee Terminators to get them into combat. Shooty Terminators are either 3 man units with Combi-Meltas for suicide vehicle destroyers or Larger units with a heavy weapon.
Personally, I feel the best bang for your buck in heavy slots is 2 Predators with LC sponsons and AC turret (one slot each) and 2 Oblits with Mark of Nurgle and Veterans of the Long War (in the last slot) is 388pts (I think, off-hand). It is cheap, survivable, flexible, and produces a good amount of firepower for the points. The vehicles don't run away and the Oblits are really hard to kill and are now Leadership 9, so have a decent chance to hang around. If he uses Oblits, make sure he remembers the rule for them that doesn't allow them to fire the same weapon two turns in a row. They get to choose a ton of guns, but being able to choose Lascannons every other turn does not allow a consistent or reliable source of AT (thus the Preds).
If he takes generic Marines as a troop choice and has Leadership issues, he can take Icon of Vengeance to make them Fearless. This also works for Havok squads.
Hope this helps.

This helps a lot. Thank you all for help.
Just 1 more question:
Is it worth showing him his new supplement Black Legion? I know it's a weird question but, for example, Iyanden supplement is not so good unless you are playing a wraith army.
I'm not sure if he has seen it yet.

10 man cultist units with 9 auto guns (leader can't take one) cheap as chips and can provide support fire.
Obliterators need veteran of the long war to be worth taking since their leadership is terrible.
Spawn with a sorcerer on a bike, using bio powers to buff them.
Always take a CCW on your CSM, because an extra attack in melee matters. Keep the boltgun too.
Dirge casters are a must on any land raider.
A unit of 20 CSM with CCW and MOK plus taking the icon of khorne and then taking fabius bile as an HQ does far more damage than any other unit in the game, because str 6 marines with 4 attacks a piece on the charge is amazing. Take kharn so they have hatred and... win.

2 sorcerers with invisibility and 3 packs of 5 nurgle spawn is fun. thats 45 T6 wounds with 4+ cover saves.
Ahriman death squad is also fun. 5 havocs with 4 plas and a combi-plas in a rhino with a combi plas mounted on it. Throw ahriman in there for triple witchfire goodness, 4 more havocs wouldnt hurt for 8 bolter shots. infiltrate with ahrimans warlord trait and rapid fire 12 plasma shots, 10 bolter shots, and ahrimans 3 witchfires. Will kill any terminator squad straight out.

After last night and what I learned about a unit I was regretting having in my army, I now have a great appreciation for The Chosen. Six man Squad rocking either Combi-Melta's+Melta, or Plasma Pistols + Power Weaps, Mark of Khorne, I think 5-6 hits a model on the charge and all that jazz. I am looking forward to trying these strats out next. +__+

Lord of Slaanesh on a steed with killy gear
Bikes of Slaanesh
Icon of Excess
Outflank w/ acute senses, T5 3+ and FNP, lord hits on I6, give him a mace or lightning claws and watch him go.
Most fun I've seen lately was Abaddon with 3 Oblits. DS in, profit.

I'm not sure if he has seen it yet.
If he runs Black Legion as the fluff part, he might be interested. But to be honest, paying the large sum of money for something like 2 pages of rules is probably not worth it. If you have a friend with it that can loan it to him, he might enjoy the read.

For combos:
Huron and infiltrating a big blob of CSM or noise marines into the midfield.
Huron and infiltrating havocs into an ideal shooting posi.
Huron and any shooty infantry unit basically.
Spawn and juggerlord (for a khorne army).
Bikes and bike lord.
Re: Black Legion, it is nice for getting chosen as troops without having to field Abaddon, and the artefacts are decent.
