The fact that you assumed "by-product" = gak, even when it's explicitly psychic material, says more about you than it does about psy-cannons.

By-product of the Emperor's metabolism. It's not the word by-product that he read to make him think gak, it's the fact that it says by-product from metabolism. So while it's literally not crap from the Emperor, it is a powder/dust of sort. In Ahriman: Exile, there is a passage where an Inquisitor is prepping for combat and her ammunition is psybolt ammo.

That's certainly one way to interpret it. Then again, there are other references to the "biological effluvia" from the Golden-Throne that goes into making these weapons.

Regardless of the process involved, the word "crap" generally regards to the smells brown stuff that people are revolted by. Clearly ps-bolts have nothing to do with the feelings or thoughts triggered by the word "gak" so it's innacurate to describe it as such.

Or alternatively the fact that it has nothing whatsoever to do with a digestive system means that it is not gak. Take your pick, it's still infantile.

Considering infants generally don't make jokes, I prefer the word puerile.

I wonder if inquisitors get high from sniffing golden throne dust....that might explain a few things.
