I have been making ruined buildings for WH40k out of foamboard. I have been following tutorials online and I am able to make a very plain looking building, that is functional but really ugly. Does anyone know of a good source for building details? Cheap plastic kits with stairs or railings? Metal plates? Anything that I can glue on to give the foamboard some texture.

My city is inspired by an imperial city that has been claimed by nurgle daemon prince. So there will be a lot of rot and decay on the buildings. I was thinking on using expanding foam to create tumors and puss sacs. Maybe using water effecvts to make them look slimy and oozing.

Any thoughts?

North of your position

The Warhammer Fantasy unit movement trays are good for tiles/floors.

You can also use those in combination with spare pieces of sprue for rubble.

Plain old plasticard is pretty versatile for adding details.

For 40k, old electronic parts inside your TVs, radios or CPUs could be excellent for parts. Think of your average PC cooling fan: it can look like a huge industrial cooling system on a building.

Also, I think Spartan Games have produced a new line of add-on terrain that you can, well, add on pre-existing terrain to give it more detail.

Evergreen makes textured plasticard. Corrugated metal texture for walls and rooftops looks good.

Both UK Based, but both very good (I use both stores regularly, but not for architectural details so can't recommend specific products but there should be something in there for you).
