I agree that $300 is just too much money to justify those freebies. Especially with the added postage, potential import fees and inevitable month long wait to have them delivered.
Can anyone on here explain what the allure is of the pre-coloured crew box sets? I just do not understand them.

I think the transparent ones are cool for effects: I've been working on a wispy/partially transparent set of Woes from last year; I really like how the ice gamins look but think the ice golem is too blue to look like ice, still considering that one; ghosty stuff for kirai and dreamer look cool enough, would be considering them if I hadn't spent a bajillion hours on my dreamer crew and if there weren't a ton of spirits for ressers so I think they'd look out of place. Tara looks very good in clear, but I've already painted up her regular crew, so I don't see a great need to repeat.
Dayglow? No clue. You'll get the same effect with the right primer. Seems like a waste of resources and an excuse to bring an unpainted crew to a tournament.

Thanks, I had not even considered adding paint to them, with that you could get some amazing effects. I agree on expanding the crews though, half transparent and half normally painted miniatures would just look odd.
Good that The Carver looks like it will be a standard release, but I fear for the ebay price of that Performer.

Isn't the whole point of the really expensive freebies to let the produce a mini to reward their volunteers crew with ?
yes they make it available to those that have to get everything as well, but you do have to pay a lot for it
really it's there too keep the volunteers sweet and interested (who often turn around and sell them on too)

I like the performer a lot, but no way I'm spending $300. That's some crazy talk right there.
Additionally, and in light of said performer, when the heck is the Colette Box coming?!

I'm grabbing the Pandora box. At least for the sorrows/poltergeist, I was planning on using clear bases w LED's in mine, and some translucent white paint on the highlights. Hopefully they'll redo the art, because its just terrible. I'd grab the metals now if you can.

I'd recommend if you are mid-high 200s or so bump a few things in for the 300, the two models will more than compensate you for the extra 40 or so. In my opinion.

Yeah, I was actually just below $150 with shipping bumping me up (got the note saying I qualified so I'm safe on those).
If I'd been within 70 or so, I'd have probably gotten a couple LE things for trade fodder or splurged on something I knew I wasn't going to paint, but with that much and a rather light financial year, it wasn't happening.

Anyone who bought the Nekima model for $35 during the Black Friday sale is eligible for a refund of $10 or a refuction on their next order. The model was supposed to be $25. http://wyrd-games.net/community/topic/105194-nekima-announcement/ The Wyrd office gets pretty crazy from right before Thanksgiving right up until the end of the year. This is because we have the big Black Friday company birthday sale to prepare for, and then to process as we also get ready for year end. In all the rush and efforts, there are some errors that come through. The first, as was already announced, was the Widow Weaver. We saw that it was mistakenly added to the sale when it showed up on the first order we went to process. A couple of days later, we saw that Nekima had been improperly priced on the store. She was not meant to be $35, but rather to come in at $25. Unfortunately, while we recognized this error, Nathan had a family medical emergency and had to leave the office. We've finally all had a chance to discuss the issue and figure out how we were going to resolve it for the community, and the answer is via a refund of the difference. This refund will be processed similar to the Widow Weaver refund, which is a refund via PayPal of the difference the price reduction would make to your order. We'll be processing this starting in a few days, so refunds should begin to be coming to those who purchased soon. I, on behalf of the Wyrd team, would like to apologize for the error and again apologize for the delay in being able to address it. We want to do right by our customers and the community, and in our efforts to do as much as we can, we sometimes make an error of oversight. In this instance, it was difficult to address the issue right away because of a personal matter. We appreciate everyone bearing with us. We appreciate all of you, and will continue to always strive to improve our products and our processes while giving the most we possibly can to this wonderful community.

Kaeris render! It's beautiful! Supposedly the standing pose will be the normal release. Tha Hadouken-pose is being reserved for later named "The One Whose Coming Was Foretold." http://wyrd-games.net/community/page/index.html/_/wyrd-news/16th-february-monday-preview-r68

Nice!
Still no Show Girls though but this Kaeris render gives me comfort that they can produce great sculpts for them in plastic ( IMO the metal SGs are fantastic, but due to their slimness I had concerns about how they might come out in plastic).

I have no doubt that they can make slim Show Girls having built the rail crew. I think the real question is will it be another Victorias/TtB female multipart result with giant warrior women.

Colette and a Mannequin. Much better than the in-book concept art. Looks more burlesque and less steampunk. Glad they brought back the iconic hat instead of the silly goggles. Mannequin is a bit of an odd pose, but it's along the same lines as the metal ones, at least. In-book art for comparison:

Those performers are pretty dynamic, cool stuff.
Colette, still not sold. I'm expecting that the new one's technically better, but at least currently feel like the old one has more character, and am still a bit surprised how static she is- I was expecting her to be one of the more over the top ones.

The metal one was a bit static anyways. I still prefer that one anyways because of the smug facial expression and more stylized clothing.
I'm just happy they brought back the hat.
