Sucks if you want the LE models they are putting out in these sales if you live outside US...

How so? The only difference is exchange rates and shipping. Even then, it generally comes out to a bit higher than local RRP anyway, in my experience.

It's the import fees, iirc. Wyrd doesn't mark them as gifts, etc, so the import fees are considered an undue burden by some.

No, no ones pissy. But it is prohibitive to some people (myself included).

Australia has a current ceiling of $1,000au before import taxes are charged. I've never ordered that much stuff to qualify.

Certainly seemed like anab0lic was? Unfortunately there's no real way to hold a worldwide sale like they do for Easter/Black Friday/Gencon/etc without doing it via a central online store, which means in the end, someone will get stung by import fees.

I'll be honest - Wyrd are the easiest company I've found for getting LE models. Limited models are available during certain sales and for that first sale, they're available to anyone who buys them or qualifies (in the case of order limit free models). Subsequent sales have randomly selected limited edition models in coloured plastics available, though in more limited quantities. Some show up again as order limit free models in other sales (I think this Easter sale is the first time I've seen a Miss model appear a second time as well). Some are given away for free for simply buying your product at an FLGS (you send your receipt to them and they send you the model). Some are simply stuffed into boxes as freebies as promotions (like the LE Katanaka sniper in the Shen Long crew box in its first month of sale, or the random translucent purple Dark Debts crew model in Black Blood Shaman boxes next month).

Getting LE models during their first sale that they're available is definitely the most convenient and reliable way to get them, but Wyrd make them available at later dates. I haven't gotten every LE model I want from them, but I've got more than I've gotten for other systems.

I know that. I'm not even complaining, just making a statement that the import costs for me are prohibitive.

I'll give Wyrd plenty of kudos from the point of view that I can get something LE I really want, unlike the way, say, Forge World do it which is an FU to people who don't live somewhere there's a convention.

I'm sure there's a way it could be done to make them available but still LE through their normal distribution channels that wouldn't be so painful on overseas end consumers.

I'm not exactly tight when it comes to miniatures but I won't even buy LE stuff for my favourite crews once all the fees etc kick in.

You have to buy from their site to get the tortoiase and hare, right?

It will have a general release at some point. It's not an exclusive, but is currently only available on the site.

Oh maaaan. I managed to nab an alternate Perdita! They're always out of stock before I get into the sale. I guess I'll be grabbing some Guild afterall.

Well, then I hope my fave online store will have them someday. This month I'm done after buying Deathwatch and tons of bits (including Death Claw) to "finish my Nurgle Kill Team" that I only started to use up old bits I had left from my CSMs.

I need some of those rooster riders as well, though. And those hounds. And those not-chaos spawns. I really should campaign to have plastic crack addction included in the ICD-11. Then I could prescribe myself minis as a substitution programme

Monday Preview of models from the upcoming new Malifaux book:
Reporters and cameramen could make for some great 32mm civilians as well, probably!

Good art, but what an odd choice for a unit in a skirmish game! "Pardon me Killjoy, Gertrude Jenkins of the Malifaux Gazette... a moment of your time! To what do you attribute your recent success in your murder spree? Chains? Fat? Fat Chains?"

I mean, I guess its no weirder than the time Seamus killed a Guild Hound, threw a wig, two melons and a dress on it and made it an undead hooker dog that lured its former handler to his doom...

I do wish one was a guy however to mix things up. One of the reasons I like the "Miss" models.

To be fair, they could actually have no direct attacks. They're from the new book, so perhaps some new rules. Wishlisting here, but perhaps they could be models that give you new schemes just for taking them.

I'd love for them to have a "A moment of your time..." ability that lets them distract enemies while they place scheme counters. Then they could interview Steam Arachnids and ask about their day.

I would suggest 'chatty' might be an appropriate way to represent their persistent questions and photo taking.

This is a game where you can bring lawyers and showgirls.

They'll figure out something for reporters to do. A lot of units in Malifaux are not combatants, but have otherwise neat things that help. The prostitutes from the Honeypot don't hit real well, but but lure enemies about and cover then in Brilliance so Illuminated hit them like trucks.

Yeah, they probably do something with scheme markers.

I could also see some kind of "blind them with a camera flash" debuff ability.

Not really mad about those. Bit boring.

Wyrd have decided to join the free rules bandwagon and released their Malifaux 2E rules manual for free via drivethroughRPG.

This is the rules manual, which is just the rules. It does not include the campaign rules from Shifting Loyalties nor does it include unit cards which are bought individually as print on demand and included in boxes with miniatures.

Hell, yes! "Intrepid girl reporter" is one of my favourite old-timey character archetypes! What a great fit for Malifaux! The trope is strong with this one...

Free rules is great news, too! Free character stats would be even better news, but then they'd annoy people who paid for those. Still, it's a great recruiting tool for potential new players.

Malifaux Vintage. One alternate master per faction done in plastic inspired by 1E models.

Misaki, Rasputina, McMourning, Hamelin, Pandora, Sonia Criid and So'mer Teeth.

I really like So'mer Teeth. Loved that metal model but the slight aesthetic differences in the plastic Gremlins, like no nose, got me to hold off. Pandora is amazing.

These will only be available in Mystery boxes and for guilders that you get for playing in henchman run events, which means I'll probably end up getting Pandora and So'mer Teeth on eBay.

Loving Hamelin, but not interested in playing him. Sonia Criid is pretty nice too...

But neat idea. Especially if they can focus the mystery boxes on the FLGS market to support in-store purchases.
