I'll be honest - Wyrd are the easiest company I've found for getting LE models. Limited models are available during certain sales and for that first sale, they're available to anyone who buys them or qualifies (in the case of order limit free models). Subsequent sales have randomly selected limited edition models in coloured plastics available, though in more limited quantities. Some show up again as order limit free models in other sales (I think this Easter sale is the first time I've seen a Miss model appear a second time as well). Some are given away for free for simply buying your product at an FLGS (you send your receipt to them and they send you the model). Some are simply stuffed into boxes as freebies as promotions (like the LE Katanaka sniper in the Shen Long crew box in its first month of sale, or the random translucent purple Dark Debts crew model in Black Blood Shaman boxes next month).
Getting LE models during their first sale that they're available is definitely the most convenient and reliable way to get them, but Wyrd make them available at later dates. I haven't gotten every LE model I want from them, but I've got more than I've gotten for other systems.
I'd say Wyrd is the worst at LE models - they make a ton of them, and make you jump through all sorts of hoops to try to get them (that's not counting all the ones that aren't available to anyone but their volunteers, etc). PP does it best IMO - they have very few, they tend to be "fun" models (not really cool stuff you'd want for your armies), and they make them freely available for anyone to buy online during any sort of convention they attend.

Hamelin and Somerteeth are cool as well. I dislike LE models, though.

Queeg looks an absolutely spiffing gent (I'd use him for RPGs - stylish enough to stand out, understated enough to imbue him with my own character), Jake is channelling some pretty awesome Native American Baron Samedi vibes, and Anna is pretty cool, too.

It was a tall order for Wyrd to top Nancy from Demented Games for Anna Lovelace (she's the current go-to proxy) and unsurprisingly they didn't manage it. Nancy is a fantastic model.
I guess they will sell a lot of Annas for the card, but the model will be put aside or sold.
I really like the Ice Dancers and Ill likely get those to go along with my Dark Carnival set. I'm still not a massive fan of the Changelings, but they're growing on me. I'll likely get them because you can't get the cards any other way now and they're super useful models and I'm too lazy to go find proxies.

Queeg and Jake are shoe-ins for me. Not sure about anything else. I feel like I need to see the Sanctioned Spellcasters in person, something about the models is a miss for me just looking at the images. Also Queeg would make an excellent "Lion Tamer" model for the Dark Circus.

It would be nice to see some more non-Japanese creatures for 10 Thunders, given the Three Kinggdoms are China, Vietnam and Japan. Yan Lo is clearly Chinese in name, but commands all Japanese troops. Some jiangshi (hopping vampire) would be cool.

I'm actually surprised there haven't been any jiangshi at this point.
Such an iconic monster that rarely gets translated into tabletop figures that often, especially when they usually have a very distinctive visual look.
I know a few other companies have made them over the years, but some Wyrd ones would probably be pretty nice looking.

I'm looking forward to the Journey iteration. Wyrd's, while pretty creepy, missed the explicitly female part of the mythology. Also, I can't imagine needing three.

Also, this may be older-ish news, but new to this thread.
http://www.wyrd-games.net/news/2016/5/2/monday-preview-malifaux-vintage
Plastic versions of older sculpts.
Wyrd is excited to announce 7 new plastic models, one for each Faction, which we're referring to as Malifaux Vintage.
These Malifaux Vintage models are alternative sculpts of Masters, each figure an updated version of the Master's sculpt from years ago. Malifaux Vintage models will be available in Mystery Boxes (as part of our Henchman Program's Event Kits) or through the use of Guilders* (which can be obtained by going to events).
We hope that everyone is as excited about these vintage Masters as we are. They will start showing up in mystery boxes in the coming months.
Remember that "Guilders" are the poker chips you can get from going to events which you can redeem for free stuff. As of right now, there is no indication that these models will be sold for cashmoneys.

I posted that a page back
Worth repeating though. They're great sculpts. I really need tog et Pandora and So'Mer.
I'm not thrilled about the method of aquisition, simply because there are very, very few henchman run events in this area, and it seems those henchman don't use the official kits so getting guilders and mystery boxes is super hard. So I'll be forced to ebay or trades.
I know Nathan came in and told everyone to cool it and they hadn't announced all methods of getting them, but they pretty decisively said they would be aquired through guilders and mystery boxes and didn't add any qualifying points about other ways yet to be announced.

Love it. I've just about finished painting my Neverborn, so it's about right that they'd release a new master. The rules on the front of the card are very interesting. Seems she's going to be another Neverborn master that likes to ball up for those heals.

AT the point I'm at, these figures have really changed my opinion of Malifaux.
I'm finally getting around to putting together the plastic Pandora crew, in which I hope to get a game in with, then add in a couple of the figures for the RPG. Really good quality in plastic, but I was a little taken aback by their size. They seem to be true 28, and in light of the older sculpts the style has radically changed. ( For the better, but they don't necessarily form up well with the older models.)
Question for someone who's getting back to them after putting them away since the KS for the RPG-
Did they make the female multipart figure sets smaller and in line with the current plastic figures, or are they still on their giant sculpt for the other figures serum?
I really enjoy that new starter set, and would like to get a couple of the female multi figure sets to add on to the crew, but if my "KS pledge gift" will work, I'll add in some metal mercs and call it a day.
As for those larger figures, second question is to ask how they stand up to play with the plastic that they are made out of?

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money. |

Not sure if they fixed it, but it doesn't seem to be an issue. This is a mix of female and male multipose models, plus a few M2E plastics mixed in. Doesn't look like a problem. Females look a mm or two taller here and there but nothing you're going to notice on the table. And yeah, I really like the plastic. I haven't found a single metal model of theirs that wasn't improved by the plastic sculpt. Some older models had a lot of character, but their plastics are better quality. Some of the older metals are outright hideous which put me off the game years ago. I've got their two current biggest models - Lord Chompy Bits and the Nightmare Whiskey Golem. Both are fine from a gameplay perspective. Construction depends on how they cut the models. Chompy was easy to assemble, the Nightmare Whiskey Golem was a... well, nightmare.

The scale is really awkward. You can cut about 2mm off their ankles pretty easily at which point they're just tall, but that takes a decent amount of work, and seeing them in the open and next to other models is pretty awkwardly off.
Look at the front two on the left- that isn't perspective, she's just like a head taller.
Still not as bad as some of those kneeling models, but still very noticeable.

Yeah, the female multi part kits are a bit of a mess, as the limbs are super long and gangly. Like if Shaggy from Scooby Doo was put in a taffy puller.
My second hand info is that they had a sculptor who just kept making everything super leggy. The December Acolytes and Monks of Low River kind of have it going on as well. Newer offerings looks better though.

Really bummed about the way in which you need to go about to get the classic sculpts. I don't know of any Henchmen or Guilders near me, or if they'll be doing anything in regards to this promotion. I'd really love a Rasputina and Hamelin like that, but it looks like as with most limited editions from Wyrd, I will be missing out yet again.

No particular problem with leggy- leveticus and rusty both have crazy proportions, but at least they're in scale with the rest of the game. I don't know how it's that hard, when everything's digital, to get the render and then line it up next to your standard render and scale the model down 5% or whatever so it's right, before going to print.

Well, if you're okay with spoilers, there's playtest cards and names for the Ten Thunders and Resurrectionist masters on 4chan.

I just go find them on ebay if I miss them (I tend to miss the pay-walled alternate models they do during Black Friday). While I'd prefer to give the money to Wyrd, I'm not going to let a little ebay scalping stop me getting miniatures I want. Big downside is inflated prices, but that's par for the course with limited edition stuff.
