Got a problem with my opponent dropping in Zagstruk + a full squad of stormboyz / nob with a power klaw and popping armor / disordered charge right off the bat (in three games has never scattered once) - I ran across an article that said 6th edition made charging after coming in from reserves not possible ... I was under the impression he was still able to.

Zagstruk has a specific exception to the "no assaulting from Reserves" rule with Swoop Attack. He's one of the few units (along with things like Ymarggle Genestealers) able to do so.

Change the second and third sentences to read “They may not
shoot that turn, but to represent their swooping dive into the
enemy ranks they may charge that turn (though they count as
having used their rokkit packs to move that turn). If the Vulcha
Squad successfully charges on the turn it Deep Strikes into
play, remove D3 Stormboyz at the beginning of the Fight subphase
as crash landing casualties”.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

It wasn't possible in 5th either without a special rule.
Zagstruk has a special rule.

I wouldn't get to comfortable using this tactic. That special rule looks an awful lot like the one vanguard veterans had in the the previous edition codex. That rule was turned into something far worse in the current codex. I fear the blood angles (who still have vanguard vets) will get the same treatment when they get a new codex. I bet the Ymarggle Genestealers will be safe but Zagstruk might get nerfed :(

Zagstrukk isn't that gak-hot to begin with.
Wouldn't be shocked if he does get nerfed, unless GW decides that Stormboyz need to sell better.
not many folk actually use them that i've met. I use mine, but that's because i love the nutters,m not because they are good..

@easysauce .... glad you mentioned that, I don't think he did it intentionally He's been using Zag + a PK Nob Stormboy and he's also been using Zag with a PK every round instead of just on the charge - without these two issues the unit should not be very difficult to deal with .... he's be consistently popping 1-2 land raiders a game with his storm boyz (off the charge - and using disordered charge to hide in assault from shooting the next round), doubt that will happen now that I know. Thanks

Thanks
yeah the ork dex has sooo much wrong stuff in it, its hard to keep on top of it, the FAQ spell out how the special chars are addded to the unit,
heck my ork dex told me my Fast attack warbikers had 2 wounds each... and i played that way till I realized the back of the BRB said it was only 1
and I thought zag had the claws normally too actually... was very " WTF?!?!?" when I found that he didnt, he costs enough to have it lol.
orks are at a real disadvantage against things like land raiders unfortunately,
