With a level 4 and a level 2, you can most likely drop the warlocks. You have 3 other fast cav units anyway.
It free's up points for the 4th RBT, and leaves you with 55 more to play with.

I'm not too sure about dropping the warlocks. I like that I'm guaranteed to have doombolt, because the level 2 won't always drop down to both sigs. Even if she does, I then have 4 direct damages/magic missiles.
But, on the other hand, I can drop them for another bolt thrower, which, admittedly, will be useful 90% of the time. But that means sacrificing fast cav AND a chaff drop. Something I dislike doing.

You've got 9 spells, and a serious power dice shortage. I'd trim one of the wizards, and you are over-killing it with the magic phase.
You could go the other way and drop the level 2, and try and squeeze in a 2nd unit of warlocks. Then you focus on spamming Soul Blight. If you can get the -1 toughness off, it makes your S3 shooting a lot more scarey.

Soulblight does make my shooting phase better. But with 146 shots probably going into a target, and the capacity for two doombolts a turn, both with the ability to be boosted, that should provide me with a decent ranged firebase.

you want to sit back and shoot right? then why do you have fast cav?
I played a similar style list (under old rules).
take your xbowmen in units of 20
and take a couple of close combat units. i know sounds stupid but sooner or later they will reach your shooting units. i mixed in a unit of black guard and cosairs. oh and assassins are you're best friends. they can save your sorceresses in close combat.
but thats my two cents

Fast cav is actually very useful in a shooty based list, since it can really hamper your opponent's progress across the board. With the amount of fast cav thedarkavenger's got, he should be able to get an extra round of shooting with most of his units against most of his enemy's.
To be honest though, I think where this list falls down is on the magic. I'm not sure why you've gone with Death here. Sure, you can snipe out the BSB/General to make panic more widespread, but that's not as useful when you're not causing as much panic. I think either Shadow or Heavens would be better on your Level 4. Shadow gives you a good chance to get the Withering, which is FANTASTIC in a shooting list, Melkoth's which you can use to slow the opponent down and the ability to make your shooty units nasty in combat as well. Heavens is great because it can slow the opponent down with Wind Blast, screw with your opponent's saves with Curse of the Midnight Wind, boost your shooting prowess with Harmonic Convergence or make Panic more deadly with Iceshard Blizzard. And on top of that you have possibly the best selection of Magic Missiles available.
Death is great, but for Soulblight mainly, which your Warlocks get automatically. I would actually drop one unit of Dark Riders and a couple of Xbowmen, to get another unit of Warlocks. Same number of Fast Cav units but with two Soulblights, which is two units at -1T a turn, on top of any other spells you get from Heavens/Shadow. You could drop the Level 2 completely then as, as Matt says, you don't want a redundancy of spells. That said, if you've got the Tome, you've obviously got a plan, so it depends on what that is. And it's nice to have flexibility in your casting anyway.

I don't quite get the tome? Not sure which Dark Spell you NEED?
As others have suggested I'd drop the lvl2 perhaps for another unit of Warlocks as suggested (though not convinced you'll have the dice for 2 with a lvl4 there).
Also Shadow may be a better lore on the lvl4 for the reasons The Shadow said plus Okams means no need for a combat unit as any unit of 28 Darkshards suddenly becomes a CC powerhouse.
Possibly consider dropping one of the units of 10 for that last Bolt Thrower?

The level 2 with the tome is because I misread shroud. I may upgrade her to be on a pegasus as such.
As for death, the whole point of the list is to avoid the need for combat. And death is actually really good for that. The threat of losing characters causes most people to stay out of 24" of the caster, which gives me more time to shoot. And the 2 doombolts is pretty good too. The double soulblight is a good trick that can come in handy when I need it.
I really don't want to cut down on crossbows. But I don't actually know what to drop. It either means the level 2 or the 'locks.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Ended updating the list to drop the warlocks and stick the level 2 on a pegasus.
