Tonight I would like to hear about your glorious purchases and trades that simply bring a smile to your face

I'll start off by saying a few things I have gotten in the past that have made me ^_^

First, I bought a Land Raider a few months back, for $35 on Ebay, normally a great deal, made even BETTER, by a random Rhino chassis thrown into the lot! Not too shabby!

I won a set of CSM from a random guy on Ebay as well who had 20 models all built with added bits in a small box thrown together for the lot.. Couldn't really see what was in there, but to my surprise, found 2 full bodies and appendages for Chaos Spawn in the bits!

Tonight, I just won 6 Fiends of Slaanesh off of Ebay for $50 :O Probably the best Deal I have gotten so far!

What deals have you guys managed to walk away with?

I bought 30 guardsmen, 80 boyz (aobr), 10 nobz and a warboss off a guy on reddit for 80 bucks.


Last weekend I bought 60 boyz, a warboss, 15 lootas and a stompa for $105.

So yeah, those were my best purchases

3 raiders, 20 warriors, several incubi, archons and all sorts of other metal pieces for 20 dollars. This was before the new dark eldar codex.

Grabbed two Riptides NIB off eBay for $130 CAD, that's with shipping. A superb deal, and the vendor never carried them again - must have been a fluke and he wanted to offload them quickly.

recently got 4 guardsman, a metal commissar, a metal medic, and that Cadian commander with the bionic eye for $9

Best one however was a friend who unloaded an entire army of IG, SM, and a scrapping of DE for $100. Then his friend unloaded to me a 1k Tyranid army plus GW hardcase for $50, which i THEN traded for a 2k IG army (tanks, chimeras, manticores, etc) with 50 Steel legion for that +$100

I just sold them but My last imnperial guard army had over 500 infantry, over 30 vehicles, 10 ogryns, 30 storm troopers etc etc (it takes ages to list them) of all the types of guard ever made, conversions, other companies and all that jazz, over a year and a half of collecting (have to add the bit about havinf 40 awesomely converted rough riders) and i spent over all 4000-5000 over multiple auctions. was worth between 12000-17000 new (some models where purchased new whislt some where second hand) but over all i think i had an amazing streak of deals to gather an amazing army. But i realised it was too much and sold it 2 weeks ago haha. Time to move on to the next project.

What? You can never have enough guardsman! You know theres valhallans, vostroyans, praetorians and even Krieg who need to be collected!

I litterally had all of those races and more. Over 30 nationalities in basic infantry alone... All the collectors, heaps of other brands of guardsmen, hundreds of conversions. Ill have to put up some photos when i figure out how.

Every single time I bought a GW minis was the best deal ever.

That was before the dark times. Before the embargo.

Best deal ever was two Chaos Terminator Apoc bundles bought through the Warstore (for 20%) off. 30 NOS Chaos Termies and 2 NIB Chaos Terminator Lords for $150 (shipping included.) Best trade ever was earlier this summer. I bought 2 limited edition Dwarven Forge sets back in 2005 for $99 a piece - they're worth about $250-350 now - and traded them for $1200 of Tau. Also once scored a late night deal on bartertown for a Land raider and five TH/SS terminators for $35 shipped.

I got the new sm codex new in wrapper for 60 aus delivered from uk to aus. That's 2/3 the price of what we pay here. From the same seller I got a stormtalon for 45 aus new, normally 76 aus. So yeah been getting some bargains lately.

I don't like buying second hand, I'm a bot oc like that. So when I see something new for a good price I jump on it.

I don't understand how Aussies pay a huge shipping fee from the states but from uk it's always dirt cheap shipping fees. Small packets I think they call it.

* the bikes were actually a hellbrute, which I converted and traded to someone at my FLGS for the bikes.

Basically, I got a power-armored army for less than a hundred dollars and a little work. Not too shabby.

50$ for a squad of Kriegsmen and a heavy weapon team with an autocannon.

I bought eighty or ninety percent of my Sisters army on Ebay, back when Codex: Witch Hunters was just a rumor. About $250 USD including 4 each MM, HF and HB, six Seraphim, Veteran Sisters and all the basic girls I'm likely to need, let alone special weapons and the like. At the time I probably only spent a hundred fifty on the new Witch Hunters Sisters wave, rhinos, immolators and Exorcist. I think I got the initial, very solid army for about 400 tops including newer stuff.

I got about 60 marines painted to a decent tabletop standard, 2 rhinos, 2 land raiders, a vindicator, a necron battle force, crew extra necron HQs and heavys all for $200 on craigslist


I also got a defiler a chaos land raider Painted well, a chaos lord painted well, 5 chaos terminators, 10 khorne bezerkers, 10 thousand sons, 20 chaos marines built 25 chaos marines on a sprue and some other extras for $15 at a yard sale along with a war mahordes army in foam and a gas for $5 at the same yard sale.

The reason I even got into 40k was because of this deal. Roughly 3000pts of Orks for $150 bucks from a friend. All primed and unpainted, so I got a chance to paint my first minis and start playing 40k fo a decent price.

A Drop pod, the SM codex, the mini rulebook from black reach, and about one and a half kilograms of metal models (SM and IG). How much, I hear you ask? Read it and weep.

The best I got for a DA tactical squad and resin bases for them for £14.

Alm ost without exception every 40K item (from single figures to entire armies) I have bought on ebay has been both below retail and far better painted than I can achive - people even say how great the paint job is - and I am quite happy to say they are purchases.

I only really buy some retail stuff to support local store - I have no other reason to do it.

Not 40k but I got about $350 of unassembled, unpainted skaven plus a new army book for $70 on ebay.
