So I am getting a manticore chasis and have a few missiles from some other non-GW models. What 4 missiles should I use? The four small ones that look the same or the four larger ones that are 2 pairs? I was thinking maybe using some grey stuff to make the 2 pairs of larger ones look similar and look wider. What do you guys think? I got a hellhound body there for size reference.

I dont plan to ever use the deathstrike missile, just the manticore.

Looking at the missile size, I see that mine are too small. I've been looking on ebay for toy missiles that would be around that size but cant find any. does anyone have any suggestions, grey stuff or something?

Looking through my junk I found 2 things I thought might work, 7mm mauser bullets and empty c02 cartridges. I think the C02 cartridges are a little big and the bullets the right size. I though some shaping with green stuff and it should be good. What do you guys think?

In my mind both CO2 cartridges and any real world ammo is too easily identified and wouldn't work too well.

Are there any guard players that may have the missiles from the Valkyrie kits you know of? I used those and they look decent.

The CO2 cans are real big and I'm not fore using real bullets...
But the size of the bullets is still a bit on the beefy side..

Why not scratch build them to resamble the Tau missiles a bit??? Square and off the beatten track....

Ill take the gunpowder and the primer off the bullets before I use them fyi. I was thinking that if shaped the bullets with GS to make the neck not so steep and then add some fins, that it would look pretty decent. You guys dont think so?

I never thought you'd use live ammo , but still I'd not use a bullet.

Just use the four smaller ones that are all the same. They will look great once they are painted up.

co2 cartridges might be cool if you make a Stuka zu fuss style manticore.

I used 1/48 scaled Aim-54 Phoenix missiles on mine. Leftovers from an old model aircraft kit (f-14, mid 80s vintage). I put them on a turret, though (like the FW version) - because the GW one looks pants-on-head-drunken-stupid.

Can't show pics because my 40k stuff is buried in the shed of shame where it will stay until they release a set of 40k rules I want to play (stopped in 5th).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
