So a techmarine has 1 base attack. He comes with a boltpistol and bolter, one of which I can replace (in this case the bolter), say, with a power axe. If I do this, he gets +1 attack for 2ccws, but obviously only when swinging with his power axe. When attacking with his servo arm (counts as power fist), the boltpistol doesnt give him +1 a for 2ccws for obvious reasons (servo arm being a specialist weapon)

Now if he upgrades to a servo harness, the entry in the wargear section says he is granted with an additional servo arm. 2 specialist weapons give +1 a for 2 ccws, so how get also gets +1 attack when choosing to attack with his servo arms, which is superior to the power axe in every possible way.

But here's what I don't get: the Master of the Forge entry says in his wargear that he is only equipped with a servo harness. The servo arm isnt listed in his wargear. So, RAW, he only has 1 servo arm, namely the "additional one" the servoharness gives him. Except...in addition to what? Obviously the armory entry referred to the Techmarine who already comes with a servo arm, but the Master of the Forge doesnt. So, if the Master of the Forge chooses to attack with his servo arm, he only has 2 basee attacks, right? He doesnt get +1 for 2 specialist weapons becaus he does not have 2 servo arms.

Also, why is there the option to buy a Power Axe in both entries when clearly one line above it says he can purchase melee weapons? (the power axe is anyway in the melee section, making a 2nd entry redundant)

That way,then left

That's a large case of GW failing at writing.
About the extra attacks: in either case you only get 1 bonus attack from having 2 ccw (or 2 specialist ones).
About the master of the forge : it should have 2 servo-arms, as seen on the minis and that would make the "additional" part clearer. RAW it doesn't have more than the additional one.
The part about the power axe is mainly because the mini has it, though it already had the option as you noted.

No, you can only exchange a bolt pistol and/or a Melee weapon in the Melee Weapons list.

The line in his options also allow him to exhange his bolter for a power axe (giving him 2 non-specialist CCWs), which was not allowed by the Melee Weapons list.

I so hate seeing this, every time.

If the Techmarine has 2 servo Arms, so does the Master of the Forge.

The Techmarine Upgrades his servo arm for the Servo Harness, so the Th marine no longer has the first servo Arm just like the MotF.

Servo Harnesses have 2 Servo Arms, it is just a really poorly written description.
