So, the DA codex does not have a ton of options that make anyone squeal with excitement... that is outside of the Librarian.

I currently run mine in terminator armor with a powerfield generator and psychic mastery 2.

For only a few points more I could replace the TDA with a bike and artificer armor. And All of a sudden I am thinking this is the only way to go! Relentless, twin-linked bolters, hammer of wrath, same save, T5, speed... is there any reason i am missing for not going this route???

simple answer, are you using DW, or ravenwing? or greenwing? (the mixed wing that, imo, works the best) if the DW or mixed wing TDA is better, if ravenwing, he needs a bike.

"mix wing" - Belial, one tac, 4 DW, 1 RW bike squadron with attack bike, and two TLAC Dreads.

As of now, the TDA Libbi sits back and castles with the Tac squad, Dreads, and a DW squad w/ CML.

I'm thinking that he can be more versatile on a bike.

depends, I use my libbys as a 4++ bubble for my guys. you have to determine which are more important

As do I. I just don't see the downside of Bike with art. armor and powerfield generator vs. TDA with powerfield generator. That is why I am posing the question.

i guess one difference is that it changes my options. He would never be able to Deepstrike with a unit of terminators with a bike. hmmm

It is correct. Librarians do not get artificer armor.

It really depends on what role you want them to fill. If doing RW then obviously take a bike. If in a pod, I'd keep him with regular armor. If with DW I'd give him terminator armor and the Lion's Roar (for twin-linked on deep strike). It depends what role you want him to fill. As a PFG generator with legs for a stationary gunline that can be great. On a bike, he can hang behind a Land Raider and give it a 4++ (although it may be better with a techmarine ). The librarian is basically the only thing DA can flaunt over any other chapter at this point so I have a model in each set up (making bike libby atm) and I use them all in various forms pretty frequently.

Ezekiel is also not a bad choice as he gets some decent powers and can really boost a squad if need be. It's a shame he doesn't know how to ride a bike because WS5 black knights would be sweet

the only terminator that is hard to take down is a 2+/3++ 5+FnP. even then... they need to be T5 imo.

Sadly it's pretty true. They are the toughest platform in five men that you can give a banner to, but they die to mass fire just like anything else. Especially when those things are shuriken catapults, the basic eldar gun, that totally own them with rending. Bodies and big critters is the name of the game now, and terminators just get swept too quickly (which is totally stupid) by both. Also, if you make them shooty, they die even faster, which is what the DA book is desperately trying to force you to do. DW are a great addition to a list but not to spam out. Honestly, the only remotely competitive thing DA still has is Ravenwing, and even they are on only par with White Scars, who also get amazing things like thuderfires etc. Sorry this turned into a whiny rant, but it is annoying haha. Just remember that DA are space marines - hard mode (with maybe BA as well).

BA is STILL a good codex!!!!!!!

The Sang. Priest Bubble is the bees knees and was unaffected by the 6th Ed rules changes. Instead it got better because FNP can be taken against all attacks.

So your assault is crap relative 5th; you are still the most resilient PA army.

Lol I am unswayed by your empirical data!!! I have been across the table from BA FNP saves that more than make up for your streak of poor dice rolls!

SW always were better than BA though. "/ special snowflake sillyness. atm I have been trying out my BA as black templars. the emp. champion rocks sox. (Helbrecth isn't half bad either man, those army wide buffs are NICE).

Yeah if SW get a new dex it will definitely be slammed by the nerf bat. That dex is great although there ARE a bit too many obvious "fuff list only' choices.

The thing about the Power Field Generator is it inhibits your own ability to win in close combat. Typically speaking, your Terminator units should be doing everything they can to assault, doubly so for a guy with the chance to instant-death what he's fighting regardless of toughness.

It's fantastic for castle builds and on a mobile platform to buff and protect units as they slog forward, but your Terminator Libby shouldn't have too much of an issue getting to where he needs to go if you stick him in Belial's squad so there's no chance of DS failure or mishap.

I also disagree with Varden V2 about the Lion's Roar, though it's not on principle. Getting the TW on the turn you arrive is in fact pretty baller. It's just I personally rarely hit more than 3 guys with a blast template, usually only hitting about 2 especially when people realize I've got a Deathwing force coming their way. Just bring a simple Combi-Plasma. You save 14 points that way which is good for an entire extra Tactical marine, and chances are you're wasting two guys anyway.

VardenV2 - any pictures of the bike Libby? I'm converting one myself at the moment!

*ahem* http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/571626.page

Which brings me to the thread - your list probably suits the terminator Libby more BUT (as this is a list building thread) 4 squads of DW make your list rather weak.....sorry.

Consider this - a ravenwing command squad with an apothecary is 230 points. Termies are about the same. Add the Libby on a bike with a PFG. You have T5, 3+ 4++ with decent jink saves and a FNP save as well. You also have 5 TL plasma guns, which could be 10 shots at close range.....it tends to mean my black knights laugh at terminators! They're just not tough enough.

If you must go terminator armour, I'd give him a force axe, and probably a displacer fields over the PFG. Personal pref though.

You sought to cower behind your walls, weakling? Instead, by the will of Khorne, you shall die behind them
