It is a Confederate themed army hence the gunman and Artie

Wizard lvl 4 on foot
3 Engineers
5 hand gun units 19 men 1 marksmen repeater in each unit.
5 witch hunters brace of pistols
3 Cannons
2 Steam tanks

Engineers help artie steam tanks and cannons kill larger things. (My steam tanks are the monitor and the Merrimack) The witch hunters represent the officer corps. The Wizard will be Robert E Lee fo offensive spells and Stone Wall Jackson for defensive.

What do yall think ?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
The idea, as well is each unit can have a chance at surviving with a WH in each unit giving them MR 2.

I understand it is not a beat all comers list, but what do you all think? I am trying to keep it fluffy at high points I would add some Pistolers and huntsmen and some detachments.

As long as you have a plan for stopping people getting to your lines (I imagine this will revolve around the Stanks) then I think this could work. I can't really comment on what I think would be better as its a themed list - I guess I'm not sure what advice you are looking for here.

I like the concept, but I think it will be hard to use. Once the enemy units get in combat (either with STanks or your gunline) there's pretty little you can do, due to not being able to shoot into combat. If you faced a similar civil war-themed list it would be awesome with all the shooting back and forth, but remember that you'll be facing mean Orcs on giant boars, daemons, dragons and whatnot.

Do you plan on using any magic items on your characters?

I think I would reduce the handgunner units. Ideally two units, but to keep the theme strong, I suppose three would work well. Or make the units smaller and keep the numbers. Consider adding some archers (indians?), and maybe some free company so you have some close combat options. Endless options for how to model them to make them fit the theme If you wanna stretch it, you could put infantry with bayonets down as spearmen who have run out of bullets.. I think 3 cannons, 2 steam cannons, a bunch of handgunners, a wizard and maybe some archers would be more than capable of doing some serious damage before anything hits your lines.

A BSB could fit the theme as well, but you might need to come up with some special fluff as an excuse for him to have a good armour save (I found this page that might be related http://melpor.hubpages.com/hub/Bulletproof-Vests-Were-Used-During-The-American-Civil-War )

You could later on expand with a Helblaster too, there is an old OOP metal model that looks a lot like those multi-barrel guns they had back then.

I do love the concept though (possibilities like this is what I love about the Empire), do you plan on using only GW miniatures or historical miniatures? WargamesFoundry have some nice Civil War models, as well as some cool indians/mountain men in their Wild West range.

Just my 2 cents

I'd also suggest some Pistoliers or Outriders. Cav was pretty important during the ACW.

With two Steam Tanks, I'd drop at least one Cannon in favor of a Mortar, to help deal with those hordes of troops coming your way.

You could field Jackson as a Warrior Priest/Arch Lector/BSB.

5 Witch Hunters is a lot of points to get MR2 to those units. I wouldn't bother hitting them with damaging spells, anyway; I'd focus those on the Steamtanks, and try to use Augments and Hexes to weather the storm and get into combat.
There's got to be a better way to spend those points. More troops, probably. Halberdiers (I like the bayonet idea), Pistoliers/Outriders, etc.

The army would certainly look cool, but I'm not sure how much fun it'd be to play. Once combat begins, you'd basically just have to hope you thinned them down enough.

hahaha sorry for late reply thank you all. Great Ideas, I will post more to come and some pictures. I am thinking Indians might be used for a lot of other units.

This List beat a very good skaven player at my FLGS so far so good.

How? I hate to start the "if I played against this list, I'd bring X and Y, and do Z" crap, but...Slaves, the Stormbanner, and Gutter Runners would have a field day with this list, wouldn't they?

He had a 2 cannons 2 doom wheels 2 motars 2 flamers
5 slave units of 40 1 block of 50 heavy armor. then the bomb throwers. wizard and leader and engineers I believe.

I am not making this list to take all comers, I am just making to have fun with it. Also to be able to hold my own to some degree.

Blech. 270pts in Weapon Teams seems like a good idea until you play it. And don't get me started on Globadiers.
And even with all that shooting in the Skaven list, I'd still just pop the Storm Banner. Because it's still less than the Empire list.

Anyway, yeah, I get that it's for fun. My concern would be: I don't think this list would be all that fun to play against. Move up, get shot. Move up, get shot. Charge. Maybe you shot more than I took down in close combat, maybe not. There's just not a lot of tactical options here.
