Its all in the topic...how do U kill them little venom spamming critters with 3 DL ravagers support? They seem to negate every advantage nurglites got. Higher T is mostly useless, double plasma tonned down alot due to nightshield, flying DP gets shot down by sheer amount of shots (it goes over hundred shots at 36"). Friend started to play dark eldar lately and although he is pretty new with the game he just crushes my other friends Death guard.

Any units U would say are great vs Dark eldar, without breaking Death guard theme?

Anything with heavy bolters. (Great for popping those cardboard fast skimmers)

Is this including the obvious Heldrake with Auto Cannon? Also heavy bolters are surprisingly bad vs. venoms because with night shields a smart DE player will dance on the 31'' to 36'' range and force you to move, then he will pour a LOT of splinter shots into you.

Have you tried Auto cannon Havoc and Forge fiend, I think they are the best counters to DE at the moment.

Is he against Heldrakes? Does he already have them and their output is less than desired?

Nurgle Oblits would work as well while keeping the theme.

neither is very good for their cost.

Oblits can be easily downed by splinter fire or darklight spam. Their firepower weak compared to havocs so really just points wasted here.

Heldrakes kill infantry easily, but they dont kill DE infantry any better than they kill Marine infantry, but marine infantry is much more expensive. DE usually have the speed to get out of the heldrakes path of destruction after they get onto the board.


Both are solid TAC choice. Neither will be useless against DE. But both should be subbed out for better choices if you are tailoring

Oblits using assault cannons are a good way to down vehicles, also 6 2+ wounds is not easy to go through for splinter, Dark light spam on the other hand is somewhat scary for them.
Heldrakes can most likely pop a tank with VS a turn, so it's not bad.
Havocs I guess are a better choice with all those special weapons and range, I guess if tailoring against DE specifically they are a better choice.

Also, Tri-las preds are good against them too as everything auto glances.

yeah MoN really does very little against DE.

Assault cannons are ok, but with night shields the oblits need to be within 18" to shoot. That wont happen too often unless you DS.

Trilas preds are too expesnive.
Dakka preds do the job just fine at a much cheaper price.

With Dakka forgefiends being better than either.

Add in a few rifleman helbrutes and some rhino spam and you can give DE what they hate most, Mass low AV spam. Of course if DE are allied with CWE, like every DE list, they get str6 spam access.
